Sorc Question

I'm a dedicated mod player for some time now. But one major problem I've run into is playing sorcs in hell (with virtually every mod). How are the monsters for sorcs? What I mean is if I'm pure fire will I be able to kill anything and does -% resistances work on monsters too so that I could be pure fire/cold/ice and not have to mix and match or is it just not possible. Can I kill a monster immune to fire with a fire spell if I have a decent minus enemy resistances or no? Also, (for anyone who knows hybrid sorcs) what happens to be a good combo for this mod?
