I can't get "Requiem of Sorrow" to start after I d

Post by Eclipse008 » Sun Oct 14, 2007 4:34 am

So I do what the readme says:

I place the "Mods" file in my D2 directory, double-click it, and save all the files there. I now have a folder like so: C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Mods\Requiem with all the files within. Supposedly I should be able to use the shortcut icon that unzips with the rest of the initial files but anytime I click on it (or the original file intended to start the game) I get an error message.

Let's try this one more time.

Edit: What the hell I had to log off three times before I could even post the post above this one. It kept telling me not to post a URL. Please tell me you can help with this problem because now I'm even more upset with this buggy forum.

Ok, my first comment is to ask you to not do multiple postings, if you were the last one to post in the thread, please edit your previous post, it helps us keep everything cleaned up. It is also in our terms of service, which you agreed to when joining.

As for helping you out here, you may get a better response in the actual forum for RoS, so I will move the post there....

Not too sure what that error is from(its menu text related), but are you sure you are running 1.10? And that you have script host 5.2?

WSH 5.6, actually. There probably was a 5.2, but the standard releases jumped from 5.1 (Windows 2K) to 5.6 (XP)

Did you install version 6.00 first. The 6.00 is the main patch. The latest version 6.08 has only the fixes and additions since 6.00.

Okay, I finally got it to work. Now I just have a few questions about the game itself. What skills work with the Druid's "Draconian" skill? As in Hunger, Fury, Shockwave, or none of them? And can you cast spells in this form?

I would just use the -act5 thing to test this myself but as far as my experimenting goes there's no way to use that.

Seeing as talonrage already posted this: to use the act switch, right click on the launching script, select edit, then search for -actx and uncomment out the code block its in then save.

I'm sorry, but I'm not very savvy when it comes to programming. The only portion of the script that has the word "act" in it is this:

' D2Alert = "Change act to start in?" & chr(13) & chr(10) & chr(10) & "This is used for 'testing. "
' D2Choose = MsgBox(D2Alert,292,"Choose to start in act5")
' If D2Choose = 6 Then
' D2CmdLine = D2CmdLine & " -act5"
' End If

What am I to do with it?

Edit: Nevermind, I fished out that topic regarding it.

Bumping this because I'm getting an error message as well.

Assertion Failure

Yes, I downloaded 6.00 first, then the 6.08 patch. Same error message both times. Shame, this one had potential.
