A bit of a problem with the resolution

First of all, just wanna say the mod looks great! The D3ish style UI looks really neat, and the tons of skills seem fun! I just have one problem....I happen to play on a laptop.

This means that the resolutions included lead to some...issues. For example, using -w in D2SE makes the game cut off on the main menu right around the exit button. Fullscreen fares better, but when I alt-tab out, it creates black boarders on each side of the screen, to sorta sync it up to the game, I guess. :/

While I understand if there's some problem with D2's resolutions(Guessing the upgraded UI requires more room), I'm just trying to figure out what I can do to make it a bit more playable for someone who has a comparatively weird 1366x768 resolution. x3

With your resolution, playing in windowed mode will unfortunately result in the problem you have Because the window itself is a bit larger than the game resolution). The only solution here is to play fullscreen. You can try the 1280x768 resolution in fullscreen mode, this way black borders at each side of the screen should be as small as possible.
