further progress through the seasons. . .

Post by Endless Mike » Wed Jan 22, 2003 10:49 pm

-downloaded the new version, everything worked out fine with that

-boosted damage on the Fallen shamen is definatly, umm, noticable, to say the least. Minions/champions and Uniques kill me in like 2 hits. We're talking the ones in the catacombs mind you. I secretly approve of their power boost, even though they're still nova bait :)

- Andy's regen rate is so high it's scary, which is pretty cool. That and what seems like boosted poison damage make her a lot tougher.

-God bless attack potions being sold in town. Definatly the only reason my Sorc beat Andy was by tanking with rejuvies and just blasting with Fire potions. The boosted power is nice too :)

-possible bug on static field. The first skillpoint gives you 1.6 range, but the second lowers you to 1.3. After that, the skill increases at a normal pace.

Those Fallen Shaman are a real treat now :) They may be a little too dangerous right now - the problem is alone they are fine but once in a group watch out!

I too find myself using the Throwing Potions now LOL! I think I should add some more so there is more of a progression between them - maybe even try to get some Lightning and Cold ones working - if I can make enough room in the missiles.txt file...

As for Static Field I'll have to take a look at that :(
I know the range is as good as nothing for the first few points. I may have to fix it's range and find do something with the mana useage similar to Teleport.

Thanks again for your comments, it's good to see people enjoying your work :D

man... those fallen shamen are a pain!

everytime you take the challenge to go straight for the boss shaman himself, you risk life and exp. to kill him. so when you do (after a few trips to town and a dozen potions later...), youre all "yes! finally.."

you would advance a little further, and BAM! another boss shaman.

currently nothing beats the act 2 under attack town thing.

all of those returned with the hollow ones, and those huge guys with small heads...

an assassin, her shadow and a level 2 merc with the defense aura can only do so much 8-O

I was playing an Assassin last weekend and found Act 2 quite easy - I used traps with melee of course :)

She was using Fists of Fire and level2 Charged Bolt Sentry - dual claws when I could afford to repair them hehe ;)

finally experimented with crafting and was nice to see the mods on a nature crafted claw..

- 20% IAS
- 30% enhanced dmg
- 1-2 cold damage

and the other 2 mods were adding a point to some level 18 skills, I can't remember them off the top of my head.

And mad, for wasting a chipped ruby, EL rune, and jewel for just 2 mods..
- reduce dmg by 3
- regnerate life by 3

was that part of the ring craft, or just a bad roll?

Assertion Failure
Location: D2Common\UNITS.cpp, line #2828
Expression: ptUnit ->hAnimSequence

using an assasin charge skill on another weapon (for enquiring minds, it was a pilum) other then the claws, that may have caused it.

Those crafts sound about right for low level recipes - remember you only get a change to get the properties.
Later on there is a 100% change to get the set mods :)
I generally start crafting as soon as I can but most of the time Normal gem crafts are great :D

Could you please name the skill used?
I thought there were no charged items - maybe I missed something :-|
I did see a charm with cold damage on it the other day so it's quite possible.

The other thing is that you should not be able to use the Assassin's charge-up skills with anything other than claws (I plan to change that back to they way it was so you can use swords etc - works better that way :))
