AfterMath - Mod Concept Question

Gold is often way too abundant or really just not all that important. I've been playing a game called Dark Souls 2 that I really enjoy. In that game, there is only one "currency": souls. Souls are used for purchasing things, repairing things, enchanting things, ..., and leveling up. It would be very easy to put something like that in my mod. My question. How do you feel about the item of spending gold to level up? I'm curious and I'm really thinking about coding the change. Just curious about what others think and possible potholes to avoid in coding it.

it would make the mod very different, I guess the risk is that it would become the focus of the game - which could be a good thing or it could detract from all your other features.

Nice idea . The game was a complete trash and went downhill after a 2 weeks of play and twitch streaming / hype . Lacks variety , No DLC no fun , etc etc . Atleast the AI was improved ... a bit . But in diablo this may turn really into a awesome idea . Since gold is practicly useless in 99% of the time in mods .

Well, it's coded. I guess we will see how it goes in practice. It could be a great idea or a really dumb one. Time will tell I suppose.

It is a nice idea, but a nice idea doesn't always translate to a fun/practical idea.
So, the only way to actually know how it feels is to play it IMHO.

In your idea, the Souls are obtained only by drops? If that's the case, you're gonna need to adjust the drop rates in a really tricky way to prevent abuse of the system and such things.

Anyway, everything that changes gold system is really welcome for me :)
