I've been using WinMPQ, but if I'm getting a bunch of outdated files because I can't access patch_d2, that could suck.

You may get last datafile (list of files in patch_d2.mpq) here. Just add this via /Options/ -> /File Lists/ in WinMPQ. ;)

Take mpql.zip and extract it in the "listfiles" directory of mpqview

WinMPQ / Options... / File Lists

there, remove the entries if any, then Add a file list, go select mpql.txt. Ok, then quit. Open patch_d2.mpq, now the entries should not longer be "unknown".

EDIT : woops, didn't see there was another page

Hi,

this is my first time modding D2, so please be understandful, if my questions might be too simple.

My goal is too eliminate monsterregeneration in D2 for some or all monsters. Therefore I set the values in the column "DamageRegen" to "0" for several selected monsters. I did this for all 3 "monstats.txt"s, in patch_d2.mpq, d2exp.mpq and d2data.mpq. But when testing, those monsters still regenerate. What am I missing?

I used WinMPQ to extract and add the monstats.txts and Excel to change the values (then saved as tabstopp-seperated txt.files). Furthermore I play patch 1.13d.

Another small problem I just encountered is that I can't patch upwards to 1.14d anymore since I altered "patch_d2.mpq". The error message said, that a checksum doesn't fit anymore and " ERROR: unable to apply patch to file 'data\global\excel\monstats.txt'

WARNING: couldn't delete registry key". I guess, if I implement the original "monstats.txt" again, it should work again. Or is there another solution? Can I do anything to adjust the checksum or something like that?

Thank you very much in advance!!

Did you generate and pack a new set of BIN files?
Also 1.14x is know to cause issues due to the newer MPQ format.

I didn't do anything with the .bin-files. I just edited the monstats.txt-files. Should I do anything with monstats.bin, too?

The patch version I use is still 1.13d since I also use PlugY which isn't 1.14-compatible yet, as far as I know.
