Upgrading to 1.13d - Info Request

Post by Kieran » Thu Feb 23, 2017 7:05 pm

Sup Guys,

Currently in the process of upgrading my mod to 1.13d;

Firstly;
Are there any big text file changes I should be aware of?

I have basically replaced the .dll files with the 1.13d version with the intention of re-doing my .10 code edits however I have kept the same patch.mpq from my mod.

Secondly;
Could anybody kindly upload a 1.13d misc.txt and cubemain.txt so I can ninja the respec stuff?
Probably worth asking for patchstring.tbl too seeming the respec function at akara is blank!

Cheers everybody.

As far as txt changes go.. I'm not sure of all the differences between 1.10 and 1.1x.

You can extract those from the vanilla mpq's.. but it would better to check out the fixed txt files for 1.13c as they work very well in 1.13d, and can save you some hassles.

Thanks Devurandom

I decided to move to 1.13d for a few features that are already present;

- Window mode can be maximised/minimised
- Window mode can be overlayed (multiple screens on top of each other rather than minimised)
- Respecs are added in
- Recipe to alter respecs is controllable
- Charge lock is not as buggy as 1.10
- Numbers display on globes

Plus im modding classic anyway and pretty much all the changes from 1.10 - 1.13 are for expansion so I figured, might as well take the quality of life stuff and save some work.

My intention now is to try and find increased screen res for 1.13d

:D

It really depends I guess.. I'm modding for 3 different versions, 1.13c, 1.13d, & 1.14d.

I've changed to work mainly from 1.13c, because there is more information posted.

Yeah I was torn between 1.13c and 1.13d but I love the look of some of lolets plugins for 1.13d so decided to go this way :)

I got all this features in 1.10, it's not that hard.
For 1.13 you defently need to include the vanilla uber when upgrading (i think that some lines of them are hardcoded).
Besides of that, you can check what the difference is between 1.10 and 1.13 .txt files... you can do that by compare them with each other. There are some programs who can do that for you.

The ubers never worked in classic mate so they don't effect me.

Regards the changes you have made for 1.10 to have the 1.13d features; is this with using the d2mod system? As I would like to avoid using it.

Likewise I have seen nothing on here that fixes charge locks.

Yeah most of them require D2Mod, but i dont see any reason not to use it.
Forgot about that you are modding classic.
