Corrupted tbl file (?)

Post by rondel123 » Tue Apr 25, 2017 11:16 pm

Hello,

As first, I'm not sure if i should create this topic in "tools" or "code editing" or here so please accept my apologize if I have choosen a wrong section.

Today I'v got a problem which I never experienced before. My tbl editor, which is "Peer TBL Editor" has crashed while editing patchstring. Some random crashes in this editor are happening from time to time, but they just alt+f4 it.
This time however, it reduced my patchstring to 0 bytes of file size and made it unusable. This is the info I receive when I try to open the file from editor:
Corrupt File: Unable to read beyond the end of the stream.
And this is the info, when I try to open the file by double clicking it:

This is what happens when i click cancel:

Are there any chances to recover my file? And what could happen?
Any help will be very appreciated!

If the editor makes a backup file when editing, then you could try a file undelete utility. with that scan the folder containing the file you were editing.

try a utility like recuva.

some utilities will do a deeper scan, "lost file names" if I remember correctly.
