What is the Keep Staff?
The Keep Staff is the group of people who are responsible for maintaining this board and its features, such as the Forums and File Center. Staff members may be moderators, senior moderators and administrators. Certain other titles are used for special functions, and individual staff members may have unique titles recognizing unusual achievements. The user name color will (in most contexts) indicate the standard rank of individuals with special titles.
Who are the Keep Staff members?
The current list of staff members can be found here, or by clicking on the Community | Staff link in our lefthand navbar. At this time the list does not include moderators or hosted forum moderators. Retired staff members (as designated in their titles) are recognized for past services and maintain their authorities even though they are not active on the board any more. Retired staff members should not be individually contacted for any board problems or feedback.
What is a Moderator?
A moderator is a person who has the ability to edit, relocate or remove messages for the forum(s) assigned to that person. A moderator has the responsibility to enforce the Keep's Terms of Service and ensure that discussions are kept in accord with the forum's topical scope. A moderator will warn a Keep user in the event of a violation of the Keep rules, with the full backing of the entire staff.
What is a Hosted Forum Moderator?
If a mod maker has released a playable mod and qualifies to have a forum on our board, he is given this title and allowed limited moderator duties and authority. Originally intended for projects that are hosted at PlanetDiablo with fully-developed websites as well as a forum, this title has been extended on a case-by-case basis to well-qualified individuals whose projects are not hosted at PlanetDiablo. A Hosted Forum Moderator is not automatically a member of the Keep Staff, as the requirements for running a mod-specific forum are not the same as the requirements for running the Keep itself.
What is a Senior Moderator?
Moderators who have shown exceptional attention to their duties and display a comprehensive knowledge of Diablo II's workings may be invited to become Senior Moderators. They are then able to moderate in any forum at the Keep.
What is an Administrator?
A Site Administrator is a person deeply involved with the Keep's internal operations. A Senior Administrator is a person additionally designated as a primary business contact for the entire board. Administrators serve as senior moderators, set user and usergroup permissions, restrict or ban user access as required, upload files to the File Center and create catalog cards, and post the Weekly Update. All changes to the Phrozen Keep website and operations are processed by the administrators and designated technical support people working in consensus.
How do I join the Keep Staff?
We do not post open positions or solicit applications from interested people. When we perceive a need to increase the staff, we will invite individuals through private messages. Likely candidates will be responsible members of the Keep in good standing (no official warnings) who have shown a good working knowledge of the game and of our Terms of Service. They will be helpful and respectful of other people's questions about mod making.
