Re: Inexplicable Interface Issues
I can only second Laz's opinion here. It is EXTREMELY annoying that you go to page 1 of a thread if you miss the actual link (page number or New Post indicator) which is very small by a single pixel. To add insult to injury, the topics often load very slowly so you have to wait like 20 seconds befor...

Re: Garden of Hell Variety Challenge
Not particularly useful, but a fun drop:
Murteriel was in Tristram, and a monster dropped a Wirt's Skull (unique Necro Head) right next to Wirt's body.

Re: Editing a couple of skills
Ad 2: AFAIK that is not possible. A character can only generate one aura (from the RMB). One workaround (at least for some auras) could be special "Aura forging" recipes that use a variant of the aura skill that takes the effect (damage, ...) from the original Pally skill (Make a "Definance2" skill ...

Re: Garden of Hell Variety Challenge
I find your criteria for caster skills strange. For me a caster skill is one that does not use the weapon base damage. It doesn't matter if the skill multiplies the weapon damage (like Concentrate) or add elemental damage to the weapon (Poison Slash). IMHO for example all Amazon Bow and Javlin skill...

Re: is there an easier way to farm gold?
My favorite area is the Dark Mages Chamber. The first level isn't that great if your killspeed is not very high (because of the revivers), but the second level is great. The Dark Mages multi-drop and don't have very high life so if your resists are high enough to take their damage, you can get a lot...

Re: is there an easier way to farm gold?
Actually, you can get a few % more GF from sockets. A magic/rare jewel can have up to 40%GF, RA forging adds 25%, so if you have the jewels you can get up to 65% per socket.

Re: ES R6D or ES R6E (comm version)
Just one more thing that I forgot it my first response: Try to avoid D2SE! It's identical in all aspects except for the fact that the skill point reward of quests is broken. Standard ES gives you 2/2/4 points while the D2SE-Version only rewards 1/1/2 points. This accumulates to a total of 12 points...

Re: The Finders Keepers Challenge
Yeah, it really sucks when the game crashes, especially if you lose some important drop. I stopped playing the Blood Raven Workshop for this reason (unless I really have to, like in a no-rerun tourney), it crashes very often in the second level. James is doing relly well and is done with A4 Hell. Mo...

Re: The Finders Keepers Challenge
James is (almost) done with NM. Only the Domain is missing, and he'll do that after levelling up in Hell and improving his gear a bit. He returned to Normal to finish the Domain and that went without problem. He's quite pleasant to play, damage output is very nice, FotH takes care of most monsters, ...

Re: The Finders Keepers Challenge
Ugh. James died in the Nowhere level. A bosspack of ghost Izuals attacked him right after he came down the stairs. The whole "fight" lasted not much more than three seconds. At first I wanted to give up playing James altogether, but for now I'll keep going. I'll play it safe and leave the Domain for...

Re: The Finders Keepers Challenge
Jill is done with everything except the Bookstore quest and the Domain. The Bookstore quest shouldn't be that much of a problem, but her gear needs to be improved a lot before I want to tackle the Domain with her. Her life is up to 4.3k, which is normally fine, but not really enough for the Domain. ...

Re: The Finders Keepers Challenge
Jill is done with A2. Upgraded the BO Javlin to a magic one with +7, still looking for a better one. The BO undoubtedly saved Jill's life a few times. When you regularly DFlight into the middle of bosspacks, you need to be able to take a few hits before you can start leeching back. Biggest score imp...

Re: The Finders Keepers Challenge
Jill is done with A1 Hell. The going has become much safer after some monster dropped a rare BO Javlin early in A1. She's still looking for a magic one since that one is only +3 BO. She also bought a shield with oskill Shock Armor. Found so far: ES Uniques: 55-43-3 and 2 lv 45 rings. LoD Unques: 33....

Re: The Finders Keepers Challenge
A tiny little score advance ;) Jill is done with NM. No big problems so far. Well, the fight against Metalspark was a bit... iffy. The life orb jumped up and down between 20% and 100% a couple of times... I really need to get a BO Javlin ASAP, 1.9k life isn't very much for a melee char, even with Sh...

Re: The Finders Keepers Challenge
2) You're already using the unique charm, in the inventory. If you find a second of its kind, you can compare and maple the weaker one. Ok, I need to read the rules more carefully, I thought you had to have the unique Charms in the Stash for scoring. So basically you can use unique Charms normally....

Re: The Finders Keepers Challenge
A few rules clarifications, please: 1) Merc: Can he only wear his/her own set or any merc set? Early on partial sets or even single items from the merc sets are very useful. Can you gamble for Merc set items? Can you use the merc set upgrade recipes? Otherwise the merc sets won't be very useful late...

Jill is done with A2 NM. A random Boss dropped a Diablo's End jackpot in the desert, just outside of Lut Golain. Another set would have been nicer as Jill already had 3 pieces of that set... Re: Breaking Immunes
IMHO a caster Pally (Holy Bolt / FotH / PfE) is one of the most viable builds in ES and he does not need spectacular gear to work. I have played several with no (or very little) twinking. He may not be the best bosskiller, but he is a great farmer when used against masses of (relatively) weak monste...
