Re: Back to Hellfire v1.00/v1.02 Bugs/Feedback Thread

I just made a monk to test it myself since I've never seriously tried to play that class. I killed myself on purpose and was able to recover the body fine. I am running Windows 10 with LOD 1.10 and the Windows 7 compatible verison of BTH using Glide in fullscreen 4:3 at native 1080p. The last few mo...

Re: Back to Hellfire v1.00/v1.02 Bugs/Feedback Thread

Not sure he even checks these forums anymore. I'll let him know. :) Personally I like reading through these old threads. As long as it stays up I'm happy. If it goes down, I guess oh well... About a year ago I was trying to play more D2 mods and it was SO hard to find info or even download links on ...

Re: How to Get Back To HellFire Working on windows 7 with so

There is no need to get BTH working on D2SE. A desktop icon is sufficient... Plugy won't run with BTH to answer the previous question. If you can get it to work, your a genius. Right now, as of a few months ago, I finally got a glide wrapper running (same one as in D2SE) but a standalone so it can w...

Re: How to Get Back To HellFire Working on windows 7 with so

This works. Thank you. Too bad I don't play BTH anymore, but that could change now that I have it running without a really painful install with Sandboxie (or whatever it is). I just looked up mods and installed some things and tried them out for the first time recently: Diablo 1 HD Median XL Ultimat...

Re: How can we expect to mod Diablo III?

The reason why was because the tools were to advanced for average computers. Just for the maps alone, it takes a VERY long time to render maps and a VERY long time to compile them while requiring a massive amount of CPU RAM. So not every game may be simple to mod as it seems. That's interesting. I ...

Re: How can we expect to mod Diablo III?

A follow up question to the same interview. Scripting engines of all kinds that slowly become easier and easier with little knowledge in base programming itself is the wave of the future. Blizzard might be utter perfection when it comes to gameplay refinement but at some point even Joe down the str...

Re: How can we expect to mod Diablo III?

Thank you Hans, I found your post quite valuable. And I like that avatar. :) I think what you mean by "Infernal" is that it represents the third play-through once your character is near max level? If that is the case it's proving the game really is casual. So I will have to play 50 hours to get a re...

Re: Running BTH on windows 7

I wanted to update this thread because it was the one I liked most and I've since gotten BTH to run on Windows 7 64-bit and wanted to comment on what I'd found. It's not what I'd expected. I never tried Virtual Box which sounds like a valid way to run it. I started with XP Mode that I'd mentioned co...

Re: How can we expect to mod Diablo III?

Yes, I'm kind of bummed out on all this. And if we're talking about self inflicted dismemberment at least it's voluntary, 19th century choir boys didn't always have that choice.... But I really believe regardless of what happens you can't stop modders. Even if the official engine isn't used and it's...

Re: How can we expect to mod Diablo III?

Ok Voragoth9. I gave you some unofficial information because it seemed you geared MANY posts with the same question and I've happened to have alot of conversations with him on many different topics. And your continual opening of that same question was starting to bother me due to extreme repetition....

most of those left aren't doing it for the players/praise, they are doing it for their own personal goals. and as for brother laz having a 'more active site', most of the stuff is spam or useless trolling combined with lots of flamers and ingrates, not something you want in a mod creating community...

Re: How can we expect to mod Diablo III?

change the palette to 16/24/32-bit color isn't hard and have already been made by SVR back in 2004/2005 and possible several others done that as well after that. Blackened (future version)/Day of Death/metalstorm and Dark Alliance have all it's own custom modified engines. That's really awesome. :)...

Re: How can we expect to mod Diablo III?

I have thought about the possibilities and talked to Onyx some in the past about how players will someday port D2 gameplay into a heavily modified or whole new engine. This was theory and I wasn't aware of any official developments (and I know Onyx would never do that). It will probably happen event...

Re: How can we expect to mod Diablo III?

Thanks Voragoth9. I knew you could say something that wasn't gloom and doom. :) I'll look forward to that game now. Re: How can we expect to mod Diablo III?

Torchlight was alot of fun and I even heavily modded it's graphics (sorry, never released it, only Onyx has played it that way) but if Torchlight 2 is anything like it people will forget it in a week. Not enough content to keep you going. Even if it is fun. I'll buy it. :) I really don't see any gam...

Re: How can we expect to mod Diablo III?

The main thing with modding is making money off of it. Most companies won't care that much if you mod their game and don't try to sell it without their permission. The auction house does add something interesting however. Blizzard should know that any game, especially where the original publisher is...

Re: How can we expect to mod Diablo III?

I believe what Kingpin is saying is that Blizzard in no way ever officially or even behind the curtain supported Diablo II mods in any way and that the resulting text files are a result of recompiling the game for the update and in themselves are no evidence Blizzard ever wanted their game modded. S...

Re: Running BTH on windows 7

I run Windows 7 64 myself now and I haven't installed the game yet. Some solutions aren't complete solutions, the game mostly works but sometimes gets errors. In Windows XP maybe I'd get an error every 6 months and it was my PC and not the mod. Running true Windows XP emulation is the best solution ...

Re: How can we expect to mod Diablo III?

The way you "refer" to multiplayer don't exist in d2 either, without go into it any further. You know what I mean with this. There is no point complain before the game is even out. Those who was modding back in 1.03 know how little modding was supported, compare to how game is supported today and h...

Re: How can we expect to mod Diablo III?

I agree with what your saying. And I think it will be inevitable that fans will complain quite loudly. But I'm afraid it will likely go on deaf ears because this is a company now with alot at stake since they make so much money and they consider this to not only be the "Wave of the Future" for all g...

BTH, The True Image - Mods of D2 vs. modding BTH

Diablo II mods - we can use more of those. Even with a possible full success of Diablo III people will always play Diablo II, especially with virtual emulation opening the doors to using old software like never before. BTH mods. This would be a mod of a mod. In it's truest sense this is fine and it ...

Re: Lighting wall vs fire wall.

To me that's part of the game and the fun of it. I had to play alot recently to find some of the longer runewords. English is my first language but some just never occurred to me. :)

Onyx may send you a list. I don't have one because he convinced me I really didn't want one....

Re: Lighting wall vs fire wall.

Yes there are runewords that give + skills but I can't tell you which ones. :)

There are also unique items that give + skills. On some characters they are useless, on others they work great (due too competing items that are far better).
