Hm, if it would be always i would have said, put your current formula in brackets and add a -1 at the end.
Can u may post the formula you currently have, to see whats wrong?

I think the Pandemonium Portals are only hardcoded to the ID. So if u replace the Map on the same ID it should work.

If Monster appear that you don't have set to this area via levels.txt, then you should look into the map file of the specific are because there it is possible to set a "firm" amount of monster who always spawn on the same spot.

If the Item can be bought from Vendor, it makes no difference if you create a new char or keep your old one. If u installed Diablo 2 1.14 via the web installer from Blizzard, you cant revert it because they changed the way files are loaded from the mpqs.

Hard to analyse without .txt files:

Look for spelling errors, missing eols, right numinput, right itemcode from misc.txt, check debuglog for errors in misc.txt or cubemain.txt, else upload your files please.

Fire_Hit is a prog overlay and is used in missiles.txt, you could also change it there but then you would have to edit every line were it pops up.

Just look into the other fields (passivstat, aurastat or calc) if the paramaters are used there with par1/2 or ln12 (which is like par1 + par2*lvl).

Did u set admin rights to your excel program? Without it can happen that the edited .txt files become write-protected and these doesn't compile to .bin files.

In Itemtypes.txt there are also 3 columns MaxSock1/MaxSock25/MaxSock40 which may need to be altered.

In Diablo 2 folder you should get a file called debuglog.txt. Rejoin to create a new debuglog.txt.
Afterwards open the new debuglog and look into it if you can find a error. Else upload the misc.txt/gems.txt file here and i will look into it.

Maximum sockets of an item are controled by the item level. Better create an item with ilvl 99 and try if it can get the max sockets.
