Feedback for BfE normal [spoilers!]

Well, now that I finished normal, I wanted to write some feedback. This forum is not busy enough, anyway ;) Some notes ahead: I cheated, with PlugY. I have about 100 stat points more, most of them in vitality. And about 10 skill point more, to beef up some poison skills. Having made a half-year-brea...

Re: act 5 crash

Yay, works perfectly now! Yes, I installed the new PlugY and tried that before installing the whole stuff from scratch. And it worked immediately. Four character pages now :) No idea where this 1.07 game.exe is coming from, probably I will put a clean patch over it later. Works fine now, though, so ...

Re: act 5 crash

Well, I just try installing D2 again completely and give it a clean start with the 1.10 patch then before I install BfE. This way, it must work :)

Re: act 5 crash

Do I need to have the current version of PlugY installed? I thought that this is not necessary cause it's implemented in the mod as plug-in. Sorry if that's a silly question :) I run BfE with the script, plain D2 just by clicking the game.exe I do have 1.10 as far as I know. I do have the 1.10 patch...

Re: act 5 crash

So far, in act 5 only the necros with bone prison are hard ;) Unfortunately, my pc with Diablo on it has no internet connection, but I'm going to transfer the logs on this pc then. Also, I wrote down the structure to check it when the other pc is on (can power only one at a time ;)), but I think tha...

Re: act 5 crash

I'm quite sure that I did everything exactly as you listed it. And I'm running the mod with the script, too. Hmm. Well, I try installing it again, maybe I did something wrong, indeed. Thanks for the quick reply, though. << Edit >> Okay, I installed everything again and it's halfway working: act 5 it...

act 5 crash

After realizing some days ago that I had an old version of BfE, I downloaded the new one immediately. But it seems broken / bugged, maybe installed badly. I deleted the old folder as specified, not sure what could be wrong. It shows 1.22 at the start screen and works perfectly till act 5. There, spe...

Oh, I see :D

Phew, good that you tell me now. Yesterday, I finished act 2 and wanted to tell some other 'bugs' and feedback...
(Like 'there is no display for luck'...well, obviously, since it has not been introduced yet ^^)

I download the new version and will be back when I'll have beaten Baal ;)

Re: New Hireling - Shaman

I experienced the same as Myhrginoc with the shaman. Note that with his mentioned trick you can 'rescue' the old merc's equipment but that no equipment gives its bonuses to the shaman. So it doesn't matter what you give him... He's kind of weak compared to the archer mercs, too. His fireball flies w...

Re: Number of skill points per level?

<< Edit >>

This post is redundant, had the wrong (old) version of BfE.
Anyway, even then, with 200 charlevel, I voted for 2 skillpoints and not three, so now I'm even more for 2 :D
(Which is up to date, just checked the readme)

Re: strange problem

I have / had the German version.
For most mod it worked for me to overwrite the German d2game.dll with the English one.
I don't know if this fixes this problem but I played EftA with no problems. Still a great mod :)

Same problem with my lvl 14 druid.

Letting go the merc does not solve it, tried so but it still crashes.

Re: Unique Weapons and Armor

Actually, I was in the middle of making more, when my father wanted at the PC. Well, it's his one ^^ If the characters / skills on the website were listed, it would be far easier to create new items (regarding +skills / skilltabs, one of the most interesting aspects of unique items), especially with...

Okay, I just dropped in and can't tell which unique items / themes already exist. So just take these as mere suggestions. I also noticed that the on-skills I suggested are maybe not even in...must've been a year, I played Thoc ^^ Whizzak (Hand Axe) +70% IAS +20% Faster Run Faster Hit Recovery 10% to...

My lit favourite is Ground Lightning, cheap and nice uniques with high bonuses.
Chain Lit is nice but very expensive, so it's not so good to rely on only.

I played dozens of mods and Efta is one of the best around.
No other mod has stayed so long on my harddrive and no other one have I played with friends so much.
Thanks for that, mouse, from my side, too.

Distributer, can you still connect to multiplayer with the new char?
Cause I can save udie chars and play single with them but in multi it messes up.

Re: How to make stalagmite work

AFAIK there is none. What you want by 'better' editor is an editor that can handle mods (specifically those which mess with itemstatcost.txt and so on). Udie can do that already, but only if you have a mod with -direct -txt and not with mpq. Anybody correct me if I'm wrong. Hmm. Maybe you can create...

Re: How to make stalagmite work

Udie is a character editor, which is available here on the keep.
I think you can get it in the member announcement, gut it's also in the filecenter, which is accessible from the main site www.d2mods.com

Re: How to make stalagmite work

Hmm. I tried editing my char with udie and it worked as long as i was playing alone. But I could not longer join multiplayer games, since Udie didn't really recognized the mod. Any comments / suggestions, also did this work for you? I think I also got an error message when editing (when I opened the...

Re: Items for Single Player

It works for me without the space, too. But it gives me an lvl 99 char instead of your lvl 33 one. Are you sure you use the right mpq and dlls? I think in regular Diablo you got a lvl 33 (30?) char when you use the act 5 command. If you try lower numbers you get a lower char, but act5 works fine for...
