Re: Can this be fix?

you need to changed the translevel so they blend differently (see portals for instance), but this is inherent in the way 8bit images are encoded.

Re: clueso's (ongoing) question thread

2) This isn't actually a simple edit as one would believe (normally you can just force the loops to a certain count); D2 only has space for 3 suffixes and 3 prefixes on an item, any more and you start crashing or overwriting data... You'd do better just replacing the suffix strings so they look like...

Re: Robins continuous thread, all kinds of topics

Thing is, blizzard have done something as they released 1.14 which makes things harder to roll back as the usual swapping of game.exe and then running patch installer will cause d2data corruption error. I'll look into it and I see people suggesting to mod for older versions but less explaining why ...

Re: Scrolls to stack themselves upon purchase

The auto-stacking for scrolls and scrolls into books is actually hardcoded; what might be better is changing all the books to look like their corresponding scrolls, and removing the normal scrolls from dropping (I think that books will auto stack with books, been a while since I have checked this; e...

Re: [1.10] D2GFEx - New Graphics Driver => Tooling Stage

About Oculus, will it support converting D1 trn to be used in D2? Right now its focus is on regular image formats and D2 formats; if the D1 formats are well documented I can look into it; but from what Ogodei has explain to me in the past, D1's TRN files are palettes for tilesets; they aren't stand...

Re: [1.10] D2GFEx - New Graphics Driver => Tooling Stage

1.09x is a great target as well because the ordinals and structs are still the same (for the stuff I am concerned with), which means only a few patches need to be ported and thats about it; and most of the patches are rather easy to find. 1.14x is the hardest to patch purely cause there are no longe...

Re: How fix players could disconnect other players when they had too many active states?

Recode the way stats attached to states are synced to clients; or recode the way states are synced so there is only one state synced per packet.

This edit has no real application to closed BNet; but for Open it can be rather useful. As such I don't see any issue.

Re: [1.10] D2GFEx - New Graphics Driver => Feedback Stage

Impressive list of features! I'd glad to test it and port to 1.13d. Function to load directly a PNG with transparency channel would be great Due to keeping compatibility with D2, directly loading a PNG would only be available as part of the modders API; However, I am neck deep in the tooling right ...

How to use ollydbg to do this?
If you want to use olly to do this, you will need to code it in assembly, you'll probably also need a bit of slack space depending on the version you are editing.

Re: How to display damage?

You need to send the damage from the server to the client for each unit that gets damaged; how you display it on the client is up to you. Best place to do this is the function that applies the final ptDamage to a unit (see Nefarius' post on damage generation for this).

Alternatively you can unlock unused colors of RandTransform.dat. It contains more colors than it uses. That would require code edit though.
This is actually a bug introduced in 1.10, in prior versions all the colors were used.

Any of the version switchers here will have what you need for 1.10 and many other versions (just note the issue with MPQs from the digital installer).

You can use a version switcher like Cactus that includes the 1.00 to 1.03 binaries:

Re: Blizzard announcing multiple Diablo projects

It has been a while since I last posted here :) But dear Blizzard gave me a good reason to do so. Latest announcement they made is quite curious as people speculate for a long time what could be the next step. I sure hope they don't turn my beloved RPG game into MMORPG. But I place a (small) bet on...

this is an assembly function, you need to disassemble the code at that address to we what it does, and find the values of interest from there.

Re: SOMEONE HELP ME

Ignore it, its not gonna go away without a code edit. This is due to a design bug, where even if a set item is found by the output parser, it still logs an "error". To remove it in 1.10, you'd need to apply something like the following to D2Common (based at 0x02410000): 02422BCE /E9 51040000 JMP D2C...

Necrolis have you fixed it completely for 1.10? Could it be released as plugin? I can always see if kingpin can add it to dreamlands, but...

This happened a lot more than a few weeks ago, the have been hiring for a new Diablo project since D3, they just change the wording every few months. Given the positions being advertised, this will be a new game, not a remake.

Re: Diablo 1 Reconstucted Source Code

A slight caveat to this interested: the bulk of the code is Hex-rays output, which means it can be nigh unreadable (mainly the DLRG code); it needs to be paired with the info from the sanctuary project for a bit of understanding. Additionally, DiabloUI.dll has not been reversed, nor has storm.dll. I...
