Im sure this has already been address somewhere but i am having a hard time finding answers.
I downloaded diablo 2 and diablo 2 lod from the blizzard website.Im trying to run diablo 2 escape from after life using d2se mod manager.When i click on the plugin for after life I get error "this file is application has encountered a critical error:
the file data is corrupt
program c:\diablo 2/d2se.exe
file c:\diablo 2\d2data.mpq
I can run the game normal and fine just starting diablo 2.Just cant run any mods from the plugy.
I tried all the windows compatibility options.
Again this is probably a easy fix just having a hard time

Hi.

Usually what I do is.

Install the game, also from blizzard.

Then download
https://versionchanger.chaosmarc.de/

Extract, copy paste files&folders inside diablo II main directory.

Run version switcher, choose mpq fix, after that choose e.g. 1.13c version to be switched.

Edit - mpq fix is what you need to do to solve your problem.

Not sure do you need to switch to some version but I did it anyway. I guess I've decided that way because D2SE supports up to 1.13c max, just to be sure that D2SE installs smoothly

Install D2SE, you already have it, though that should not be a problem at all.

Run video test and choose video mode you would like to use, e.g. Glide is very nice.

Try now, with D2SE ofc.

haha you will next update will keep the hardness but it will balance it

Beginning to think this website, like many others is nothing more than a sham. Half of the mods are empty. The others, when I install them don't work. On top of that, when I downloaded D2SE, I keep getting the same message:

D2VVidst.exe was never started before on this System.
I now start it for you and you should do the complete run NOW!
After you did this run you must start D2SE again.

I have used mod managers for almost 10 years and NEVER run into something like this. No instructions on how to install the Manager, keeps repeating the same message and mods don't even work.
