Bother about the Butcher...

Hi, I'm hoping someone, maybe even Chaos Energy himself will answer
my little question. It being:

What is up with the thrice-becursed Butcher!!!!!!!!!

I have just gotten to Andariel's lair and unless my eyes decieve me
massively it seems that I am locked off from the rest of the level. The
only thing left to do in the section I'm in seems to be to kill the
infernal butcher.

Only it's completely impossible for me to do!!! No, really, completely...

I'm running a an Armageddon-Werewolf Druid build and am about
half-way to clvl 24. Only I don't think I'll eve get there or out of act 1 even. I have some fairly nice gear, nothing insane, but then I'm only in
act 1. I have gambled quite a bit and picked up some nice stuff. None of
it is useful is my case, however.

The problem is, The Butcher is doing all kinds of weird things that make it impossible for me to survive. What does he do:

1: He hits me, I turn into human form. No questions asked, no choice in
the matter. One second I'm the wolfman, next I'm deadmeat.

2: He hits me, I instantly go down to 1 life. I have tried this with and without an Oak Sage and whenevr I am in wolf form his first hit drains me down to 1 life and also has the previously mentioned effect.

3: He hits me, I die. This happens when I'm in human form. Not an insane prposition, except I do have about 750 life in wolf form, which is quite decent for a level 23 character.

4: He outruns the living daylights out of me. Despire me having a 60% increased walk/run speed pair of boots. He may be extra fast but I don't think I've ever seen an extra fast beasty move as fast as him.

5: He casts Amplify Damage at some insane level. When he hits my Merc who is a screen away and trying to catch up, we both get Amped up by his curse.

I'm at my wits end. It seems I have to kill the butcher, yet there is no way I can. Has anyone else experienced these issues. Are they some kind of bug. Or is it just impossible to kill this nasty piece of work with my char?

kill the butcher after you killed baal...
a normal char wot be able to kill him with so low lvl like you
a psycho assa will do, in a really stupid stun lock mana drink potion battle

I too had trouble with the butcher (and never killed him)...however, I found a way around him and was able to kill Andarial and am now in Act II with every intention later in the game to go back and turn him into "deadmeat"...LOL
Have fun, and yes, you can continue and not kill the butcher....

That "thing" made my lvl 44 Barbarian look insignificant, he still managed to kill me 6 times before I sent him to hell....

OOoookkkkk, me and a friend managed to beat him on Nightmare. I am Druid 69 and he is Barbarian 62 and still he killed us so many times as if we weren't there...
But in the end...
And what will you say about Damien Even now it is still difficult for me to kill him even on normal. I almost missed the Cow level because of this idiot...
