Let a curse deal damage when casted

Hi there,

I want a curse deal damage to the area in addition of "spending" the curse. I've tried to add some poison damage to the "cursecast" line in missiles.txt, but it has no effect. Is it possible to add some damage to these curses?

curses aren't really damage missiles(see an old question I asked years ago, for the exact same thing), you'd have to clone warcry type missiles and work from there

Well, I found a somewhat ugly workaround for that one - you take a missile like the poison javelin that spawns a trail of other missiles - first missile deals the damage, trailing missile attaches the cursestate via battlecry.

If you want it to affect an area (like curses use to do :) ) - use teeth as a base or experiment with some of this nice stuff:

server do 37: seems to spawn missiles that move in random directions from the targeted point
Meteor or Blizzard might grant nice results as well.

Have you tried to use Mind Blast as a base? It deals damage and applies states to the target.

Yes I just dug up an 11 year old post...

For anyone interested, I took the barb warcry route. Seems to work fine. Will need further testing to confirm it applies the curse.
