Heh, welcome to the Phase 1 Progress Page. Incase some, not so bright people out there are wondering what phase 1 is, it's basically a set of features done, then I let people play and complain about things and then I change them and add more features for Phase 2 release. Anyways, onto the progress.

In Phase 1 I'm going to change, in one way or another, the sorceress' skills. I have already decided what the tabs are going to be but can't think up any decent names, any suggestions are welcome:

Fighting and self-buff Tab:
This is a pretty random tab. 2 skills done.

Incantations
Finsihed!

Summoning Tab:
Name says all

Are you going to go with the elements of just Fire, Lightning, and Cold?
Maybe you might consider using the big 4:

Air:
Lightning, winds and gas based.

Earth:
Poisons(from the metals and micro-organisms in soil)

Fire:
Self explainitory...

Water:
Cold and slowing effects.

...Maybe giving each a row across instead of collums.

Hmm, sounds good. I was going to just go for the three. If I can get some sort of system figured out using the four I will definately go for the four elements instead of three, gives the player more choice. Thanks a lot. Have you any suggestions for melee and elemental skills? Would be kinda helpful heh :)

Sorry man, but I think I'm gonna stick with just the three for now. I'm kinda new to the whole modding thing and I don't wanna make it too complex heh, might make it in somewhere though. Sorc skills are going ok, sorting the summons at the mo. Monsters kinda confused me but I understand them now...more or less heh, I'll keep ya posed :)

A random update here. Four of the sorceress' skills have been done now. Just thought I'd post some info on them here....:

Elemental Staff: Not complicated, enchant the staff of a sorceress with all three elements.
Electrically Charged: Much like Burst of Speed of only, the increase is higher but duration lower...Theory behind this is basically, putting electicity through veins is more rewarding but puts more of a strain on the caster.
Magic Bolt: Like fire bolt, only it's changed in appearance and does magic damage instead
Meteorite Rain: Best skill so far, call lots of little meteors down in a pounding rain to kill things in a horrible Fire

Seeming as I've run into an error that has really annoyed me thus halted progress on the mod I thought I'd make an update on the progress.
So...here goes!
Item related:
Crafting and smithing system more or less implemeted now, just need to find an inventory graphic for an ore type item
Skill related:
(skills completed)
Elemental Staff - Elemental Attack Power!
Electrically Charged - Move quicker!
Magic Bolt - Fire off a magical missile!
Magma Rain - Summon a rain of deadly meteorites
Crystallised Chaos - Hurl a ball at enemies causing them to freeze on touching the frosty ground!
Power Surge - Summon a bolt that explodes into a nova to electrify enemies!
Elementalist's Skill - Boost your elemental attacks!!!
Summon Goblin - Summon a small goblin to fight for you!
Nova Pulse - You summon a ball of lighting that periodically bursts with electric novas!

And progress halted! Stopped dead! Destroyed! Obliterated!

I'm really surprised of fighting sorceress :) It's a good, unique idea. In my opinion, you should give her skills and equipment with additional AVOIDING chances (she should have low defense, but high dexterity, so high chance to avoid). This skill will be great for this kind of character. Next advice: think about some melee skills, with chance to cast... It may be interesting, and it never been tried in game I think, but I'm not sure... For some melee skills, you can use common kick and punch animation. Should be correct.

YAY!!! WOOT!!! JUMP AND SING FOR JOY!!!!!!!!!! The spirit tab is now complete!! The complete 10 skills are on there! YAY :D :D :D I MIGHT, give you a little peak at it sometime later on...Only if you're good!

Unfortunately, I will not get all the all important day tomorrow of Saturday for modding, as I'm going on a 12 hour trip ( :cry: ) to pick something up! I'll get something done on Sunday!!

Erm, not as of yet.
I will start thinking about that soonish, would prefer to get the melee/self-buff/random skills tab done fisrt though.

OMG!!!!! :cry: Because of viruses and stuff I've lost ALL my mod data...! Oh my god!! :cry:
But being the intelligent little mushroom I am I sent it to a friend just a tiny bit before my comp *beeped* up, sp relatively soon (I hope) I can't get all the data back and continue work!!
Sorry bout the lack of updates but been caught up with school work :(
Anywho, I know it's not much, but I'm gonna make loads of items that may be in the final versions just to keep you lot occupied until I get my proper data back!

Yea, I finally got the skill stuff back! WOOHOO! And I added a new skill...I like the idea but the activation and on animation irritates me..Will need testing!

I try to keep my fans in mind! Hence the whole item thingy but seeming as I got my data back earlier it is irelevant

I really need you guys to help me out with ideas, I really want to get a testable version released by the end of today so:
Ok well here's the story so far...
Fire
Assault Spells (3/3)
Fire Bolt - Given a new missile animation - pretty boring - suggestions for a slightly more interesting fire bolt are welcome
Fire Ring - A skill I'm happy with - No need for suggestions :D
Meteorite Rain - A skill I'm really quite happy with - Suggestions are welcome for a better level 24 fire skill

Melee Spells (3/3)
Vulcan's Rage - I'm happy with this - May need tweaking but it will most likely stay
Inferno Kick - I love this skill - It stays :D
Inferno Armor - Suggestions are welcome but I am happy with it

Summoning Spells (0/3)
None done yet - Have a good idea of them though

Lightning Spells
Assault Spells (3/3)
Magnetic Field - Quite like this skill - Needs a bit of tweaking but heh
Nova Pulse - Adore this skill - Hope you will do it can stay
Power Surge - Again I adore this skill - Again I hope you do aswell so it can stay

Melee Spells (3/3)
Spirit Channel - A nice skill - Hopefully to stay
Teleport - A must have for all sorc's - Stays no matter what
Spiritual Shield - Up for debate - Inferno armor is a good substitute so this skill is not necessary

Summong Spells (0/3)
Again none done - But this time I need suggestions

Ice Spells
Assault Spells (3/3)
Frozen Teeth - For some reason I adore this skill
Frozen Dust - A nice enough spell but could do with improvement or replacement
Crystal Field - Adore this - It stays

Melee Spells (0/3)
HELP!!!

Summoning Spells (3/3)
Summon: Ice Goblin - Name says all
Summon: Ice Golem - Name again says all
Elementalist's Skill: Ice Summons: Passive increasing the summons in various ways.

The ice summoning section needs tweaking but it's there!!! :D

How about the run/walk animation for the fire golem or one of the fire elementals from Infinitum so you end up a kamikaze minion of sorts? ;) Maybe even a nice howling travelling sound?

RE: Lightning Summons -
(1) Ummm...a druid-type spirit recolored light blue with:
a) a conviction-esque aura that reduces enemy lightning resistance
b) a lightning skill damage bonus to friendly creatures or
c) a paly-style resist lightning aura.
(2)Or how about a "storm sprite" using the Imp animation from Infinitum with a blue palette shift (either through palshift or monprop) with one of the sorc's lightning cast overlays that can use simple lightning skills like charged bolt? You could even have a seperate passive skill to give him slightly more powerful stuff like shock web or lightning.
(3) Simple blue-colored skeleton (I like the full armor version in monstats2) with a bow that shoots lightning based arrows/missiles (maybe a blue version of magic arrow?).

RE: Lightning Assault - (1) A weak version of nova? (2) A lower-resist curse that only effects lightning resistance? (3) Weakish lightning-version of inferno?

RE: Ice Assault - (1) Teeth using frost bolt animations and causing cold damage? (2) A lower-resist curse that only effects cold resistance? (3) Multiple homing missiles using cold damage?

RE: Ice Melee - (1) Aura or buff with "Cold Thorns" (Cold damage version of the lightning thorns modifier) (2) Cold based version of Enchant (3) Straight forward Hit Freezes Target+x/perlvl buff

That's about as creative as I'm feeling this morning ;)

I'm sorry to announce this but I think beta will version will take a lot longer to be released than anticipated as I have exams but there's more important reason:
I am unhappy with the summons and I wanna totally revamp! Gonna take me a while to find a set of stats I am happy with.

I havn't been here for ages!! But I'm back to tell y'all some shtuff. Whilst I've been away I've been busy modding away and messing around with the summons.
I've FINALLY get a set of stats for the Ice Goblin sorted, I'm happy with them and they're a basis for the other two, level 1/6 summoning skills! Although the Ice Golem needs a tad of tweaking on the defence front he's MORE OR LESS completed now :D again his stats will be used as a basis for the other level 18/24 summons. (I'm using similar stats across the summons so that those who go for a certain element of summoning won't be at a disadvantage!)

But whilst I've been away I've also been setting other parts of my mod into motion.
Although a lot of ideas have changed the Smithing idea is coming along. And I re-did the whole runecraft thing...Might tell you the gory details at a later date if y'all wanna know.

But ALSO I've been churning out other things and I just think this format would be easiest:
Uniques
I have currently made 109 uniques, some of them are simply old ones (from Vanilla D2) carried across. I have LOADS to do yet though so don't hold your breath.

Sets
Uh...hehe :oops: 1 set so far :P "Odin's Death Gift"

Runewords
Hmmm, this has to be split. There are 70 Gemwrords and 8 runewords :D

Cube Recipes
There are um 48 new ones so far :)

Well that's that, just thought I'd inform you lot.
I've lots of uniques to create so I'd best be off

Hey! That's at least one :). Anyway it is better to create 1 nice set instead of bunch of ehm-hmm-I'mnotsure uniques/sets/runewords.
Also, could you share some screenies Gl0mb? These are always the most satisfacting, especially for our poor ey 8-O s.

But I've been trying very hard to keep all my uniques/runewords etc. balanced!!

Hmmm shall I let you see screenshots? Only of set, I will post the stats/names of runewords but not runes required to make them just yet!!
