Merry Christmas, Phrozen Keep! I have been working on a Community Patch for ES 3.00 R that builds upon the previous three patches contributed by the community. This patch has a fair number of changes, but the overall goal of the patch is to reduce the tedium of some of the cube recipes without affecting balance. I have also made as many bugfixes as I can manage. I have been waiting for a reply from Perfect Cell, but he hasn't been to the Keep since mid-November, and could be on another indefinite hiatus. Here's an overview of the changes:

Added
  • Deposit any two or three gems into the gem can at the same time
  • Deposit any two or three organs into the multistocker at the same time
  • Multi-stocker + stamina pot = 6-pack of selected output. Implemented for all multi-stocker outputs, except Nor/Exc/Eli coupons. This will make consolidating Multi-stockers after tournaments much easier :)
  • Multi-stocker + antidote pot = 2x 6-pack of selected output
  • Recipe: Wirt's Leg + Multistocker --> Multistocker (-56 Decipherer points) + Cookbook
  • A 6 Pack of Perfect Gems can replace 6 Perfect Gems in Secret Recipes 16 & 17.
    Note: This works for any item quality, so if you've got 2+ million gold to throw around and don't feel like looking up max sockets in the database, just plug in a p-gem 6-pack and Socket Donut to get max sockets.
  • Additional Secret Recipe 26 recipes:
    -128 decipherer points + P-Gem six-pack x2 + 4 P-Gems = Multistocker + Maple Leaf + Ancient Scroll 26
    -4 anvil stone points + P-Gem six-pack x2 = Multistocker + Maple Leaf + Ancient Scroll 26
Modified:
  • Multi Stocker + Perfect Gem + Key now outputs an Anvil Stone instead of just adding an Anvil Stone point.
  • Key stack size increased to 50
Fixed:
  • Now Working: Rerolling Orb with 7 Magic Amulet pts + Flawless Ruby + Flawless Sapphire + Flawless Topaz + Flawless Emerald
    = Rare Amulet (ilvl = char level) All Resistances +11-14
  • Duriel Clones corpses no longer block bridges
  • "of Aurora" for Holy Freeze/Holy Fire/Holy Shock was capped at lvl 6 for helms, changed to 12 to match database.
  • Elite Unique Suwayyah reroll fixed
  • Long Siege Bow coupon text
  • Ornate Armor coupon text
  • cLoD Amulet coupons out of order #09-11
  • Lopsided soul image

Alright AdmiralCrackbar -- I'll look into it when I got spare time to see if (most) of the stuff is working. Right now I'm splitting time between family and fixing computer issues. Merry Christmas indeed, but I didn't get what I wanted for Christmas this year -- Ihsan's Spine. I will have to cube it instead. ;)

EDIT: Found one problem: Single anvils and single full rejuv pots appear as six-packs, even though that's not the case. I'm sure other combined items can appear as six-packs even though they are individual items.

Thanks for the report :) Don't worry, the item amounts haven't changed. It was just an issue with the 6-pack graphics overwriting the regular ones. I just uploaded a fixed version to the wiki and changed the download link to the updated version.

Looks fine so far. Especially cubing in different gems is nifty.


I have uploaded another patch, this changes the General Passive to use the "generalpassive" state instead of the "2hmeleepassive" state. I'm not sure if this is only a display problem or not, but AFAIK you can't have two skills with the same state active at the same time, so it could be an actual problem (skills.txt).

Also added the damage display to Shuriken skill (skilldesc.txt).


If you need a few more ideas:

One feature I would like to see are "3packs", especially for decipherers. There are a lot of recipes that need 3 decipherers (like skill tab rings). Simiarly for Hearts / Souls for tinkering (and "2packs" for Jawbones).

Another useful recipe would be a quicker dstone conversion recipe (when you need a lot of the other dstone forms for dstoning). e.g. dstone + 1 / 2 tyrannium ore = 2 / 3 tyrannium ore, ...

Base upgrade recipes that use 3 flawless gems should also accept 1 blemished (or 1 perfect instead of 3 blemished)

I wonder if you may have found the issue that is causing it to crash on the mac.

It has come to my attention (player from diablofans) that when a merc uses bone armor as an oskill they do get extra defense. The merc was also using a 2-handed weapon with Rogins Oil applied. I will suggest the player to get the latest patch to see if the merc will still get the bonus or it may just be the LCS on the merc showing extra defense.

I doubt that this has anything to do with the crash.

The Merc receiving the def bonus from the 2h passive is perfectly normal (if probably unintended) since none of the mercs normally has a skill with which this works. But if he gets one of those skills (also Fire Armor, ...) as an oskill, then the 2h melee passive will work for him.

Skills sharing the same state at the same time should would fine, but its easy to test, just add 100 strength to each, activate each skill, see how much strenght you gain(and just fyi, its can't be a display bug if the both go up, as the client recieves all its state stat info from the server, with the exclusion of malahs resist scroll). What might be bugged - which I mention to admiral - is the damage augmenter, as I noticed huge drops in damage when I applied the patch, gonna check this out when I get time.

When I tried to use a weapon with the 2h passive, I saw that the damage/avoid boni didn't show up in the display. I had to equip/unquip the weapon and the Damage Augmentor before the bonus showed up. I didn't check if I lost the DA boni when I got the 2h passive boni to show up in the LCS. Once I gave the 2 skills seperate states both the boni showed up in the LCS without problems. I assume it's not only a display problem, but that it also affects the actual character damage. I didn't test it at that time, as the character I was using was low level and thus the damage difference wasn't big.

Found a little bug.

On Amazon's "Petrify" skill, in place of "Mana cost: 4", it says "An evil force" instead.

Eastern Sun is a 1.10 mod. The ES300R Launcher will back up your 1.13 files in order to run in its working version.

I do hear that a more "modernized" version S will break it out of 1.10.

I do not think one will be for 1.13 since a few of the features requires code edits.

What there might be is a version for 1.10 and for 1.12a since there is a port for it.

Making ES to work on 1.13 would need quite some work and likely quite a bit of redoing to work since you will likely want to stay away from code edits.

If you are playing with 1.13 you can still play Eastern Sun since the Launcher will load the files that is needed to play Eastern Sun (Down grades 1.13 to 1.10) and when finished playing ES it loads back the 1.13 files or whatever version of D2 is at the moment.

The only major issue is that ES requires is the cd to pass the cd check since 1.10 still has that feature. There is a sticky here that gives you instruction to get the downloaded version of D2 to work for Eastern Sun.

i tried to play i followed the instructions but all it did is act like it was loading up then it goes back to the desk top. i even go the message telling me that this is the first time i am playing it. could it be because i am using windows 7?

I would reread the guide. It has a section on windows 7. If still having problems please post in that thread.

the easiest way I found is simply mounting the image in daemon tools. In order to get the image (iso) just go to battle.net and register there. Then you have to enter your valid CD Key and can Download D2 (all 3 discs) + LOD. It's even quite fast and I prefer not having to bother about scratches. :-)

PC is back at the helm as the main moderator and is working on the S-Series of ES. It looks like it is going to be a very large upgrade to ES.

Yes, I'm sorry progress is slow, but I'm basically redoing everything from scratch (except for cubemain.txt and plugins, like dll's which I don't know how to do).

I simply didn't realize how big this mod has become until I decided to restart work on it :p

Hello , quick question can i just install ESR6E_Unofficial_R4.1N.zip on to my ES300R folder for it to work or do i have to install it in order ?. ex. R2N -> R3 - > R4 - > R4.1 - > R4.1N. Thanks for reviving one of the best games ever made. Also i am getting Error (c0005) not really sure why it happens , it errors when i leave tcp/ip games anyone got suggestion on how i can get it fixed, i am currently running it on directdraw mode with multires.dll mod.
