Random Tidbits: Fist of Ares

The spell Fist of Ares briefly introduced in the progress report, as well as a few screenshots, I'm going to give a more detailed description of the spell here.

As stated in the other posts FoA was a spell from the D2 Alpha, the graphics of the spell are all still in the MPQ, from the scarce info available on it, it was suggested that it made the player able to fire more then one missile with bows and crossbows, whenever it worked with skills other then normal attack is unknown, likewise any other effects it might have had are unknown, so this implementation is not faithful to what it originally did probably, but it's cool nontheless

So what does it do, with increasing power the spell fires additional missiles, however there is a twist here, while these extra missiles do not cost additional ammo ( unlike regular multishot ) the extra missiles fired recieve a tohit and damage penality, the more powerful the spell gets the lower the penality, ranging form 1/4th to 3/4ths of the actual values.

It can be used together with any attack that is considered a missile / ranged weapon attack ( this includes throwing weapons, even potions, bows, crossbows, slingshots, shuriken etc ). It does not work with spells and is not cummulative with Multishot (which also works differently as described elsewhere), likewise it is not cummulative with the monster 'multishot' ability or the missile multiplicator used by the quillrats.

In the case of missiles that carry a secondary effect such as the lightning spawned by LF these are not effected (ie you can send out more then one primary missile, but the submissiles are not spawned more then once upon impact).
