Gold Pickup
In Diablo III they have an automatic gold pickup feature so that way you wont have to click a thousand times to pick up all the gold on the ground, I was wondering if their would be anyway at all to implement this into your mod as a feature or maybe even a skill someone could use?
Just a thought.
Just a thought.

Re: Gold Pickup
I'm generally against things that reduce micro-management, as it dumbs down the game. I think blizzard again ended with a game where gold became useless and they want to declutter the screen faster (see potions).
There are several ways you can earn gold in the game beside picking things up (revealing too much about this would tap into quest area which we don't intend to discuss prior to its time).

It's depend how you see it. I'm not sure what the difference (in difficulty) it is if gold (or loot in general) is autopicked up. It's all depend how you do it. In SP game does it really matter from gamepoint of few? I would say no. It reduce annoying moments. In MP however autopick would need to be treat fair. In vanilla it's far from fair. As, the first who loot and is quick enough to pick up stuff in MP is also the one who get the loot. If there is a form of roll system for loots in MP it would be fair. But, the problem with that is diablo is a quick game that want reduce the moments you need wait. So, this system would probably not work for diablo (like it do well for wow).I'm generally against things that reduce micro-management, as it dumbs down the game. Re: Gold Pickup
It's true that picking up gold can be annoying, but from experience people don't pick up gold piles at all in vanilla other then those dropped by champions, its more effective to pick up armors, wands, staves and sell them, even early in the game, theres usually not even an incentive to pick up piles that amount to tiny sums of gold up until the end-game when paired with +% gold (I don't remember hearing from many people in the now nearly 10 years they are annoyed by picking up small piles, since basically nobody did it). In light of this in a D2 scenario (inc. SP) this would be more like a self regenerating gold stat, and MP this would indeed cause bigger problems (a attempt at gold-sharing in v1.07-v1.08 comes to mind that {filtered} almost the entire player community). There are changes to how drops of gold piles are governed so the situation with useless-piles is not as it was in D2.

So... your game won't have gold auto-pickup?
Good, IMO.

Re: Gold Pickup
I have a feeling gold is going to play a more important part to your mod than it is in Vanilla. In most mods I have played it is either not a factor or it is a key factor to character development.

Yeah, this is the general plan.
