What do you think about the new Phrozen Keep?

Great work, Onyx! Seems slightly better for me then older version. It is mainly more modern and more eye-candy, though I can't say anything about new site function while.

My Initial reaction was "Wow". As TrueMage says, "nice eye-candy" and so far no annoying pop-ups and redirectors.

I am hoping searches now work properly with more than a single keyword but if they don't I won't be worried. It's just nice to be "Home"

I like the new Keep, everything is as we know it, but so new...

The knowledge base section, and the side panels, and... and.. and ....

(just the google search seems to me as useless feature)

I like the new keep, it's much more futuristic. I voted slightly better, since I like the new look, but really can't say the functions are too new.

It is too early for me to say if I like it better than the old one. I am just happy that the Forum is back. So far I am leaning that it is better than the old one.

I selected better than sliced bread. That does not mean too much to me since almost everything is better than a slice of bread. I do like the new site a lot better than the old one.

Judging from the votes in the poll so far, seems people really like the new site. This is great

To tell you the truth, I was a little worried - we have been running the old platform for 5 years and users (including myself) were so used to it that I thought they could be turned down by the new site. I guess this isn't the case and that makes me really happy!

It appears that the site is a lot faster now too.

Guess i posted in the wrong place earlier lol.Well just to reiterate,awesome job on the move Onyx.:)The right person is at the helm too so the keep should keep chugging along.
Personally I like the look of the new keep,also seems neater I guess is the way to say it lol.Also loads faster and easier on the eyes.That being said I'm glad this wicked site is still running strong.

Missing some features from the old site like instant email notifications. It seems as though more forums you have to visit to get another instant email notification whereas the old one it would always send one when a new reply was posted.

Not too sure about the font on the left side. Seems like it resembles the old one, but it's better to change it into a new better one like Century Gothic (it's a great looking font when it's small)

Banner is nice except the part in the middle. It shouldn't have been brushed over like that. It looks like the left part of the banner is supposed to continue to the right.

Everything else seems nice so far.

As far as I know, the new board notifies exactly the same way as the old one, so I don't get your problem. As for the rest, it's all matter of personal taste.

You may need to check the spam folder. I noticed with gmail that is where it went to. It shows up as unknown sender.

In the old forum, you didn't need to visit the thread to have another email notification. In this new forum, you would have to continually visit the thread to get new email notifications.

I made sure long ago (for the old and for this new one) that it wouldn't be sent to the spam folder.

Ah, this. Yes, one notification per thread until you visit said thread. What is wrong with that? You already know there are new posts in the thread from the first notification, why receive a second one?

The notification I posted was a a snippet of the full message. The old notifications included small, but helpful details on the first words of said reply. Now, the new notifications don't do that, they just tell you, 'hey a reply has been posted. click on this link.' without a 'onyx said: The keep has just been updated...' and so forth.

Right now as the forum is and how it deals with the notifications, that I could learn to deal with it. If it doesn't even include a snippet of the reply, you're right; why would I need a second one?

I guess that, this 'feature', as well is another of personal taste.

Yes, it's a feature, not made by me, but included in the standard phpBB3 platform, which the site is running on. Also, a site doesn't need users who read the new posts via their e-mail notifications - a site needs people who visit to read the posts. And also, people don't need 10 e-mails about the same thread in their inboxes - if they are watching a thread, they will visit anyway and read all the new posts at once. This is what the 'watch' function does - notifies you when a certain thread is updated.

All great points, onyx;

as usual, you and I will have to agree to disagree.

It is very commendable that you have for the most part, did in fact, keep the old design with the new. I love the font colors palette on the side when typing up a post, I love that the site is supremely faster, and I love that you didn't follow up on that thought of making an entirely, empty, new forum.

With all the information here, it would've been a shame to just lose it all, just like that. In the end, that is what is most important.
