There is a little file (1 byte) which indicates what is the language of your version of D2 (this only apply to the texts, not to sounds).
This file is "data\local\use", open it with a text editor, put a space instead of the present character, and it should work.

In your Middle Earth mod folder (game folder if you didn't use a mod folder), there should be a folder named data. In that folder there should be two other folders, global and local. In the local folder there will be several folders and a file named use (it doesn't have an extension). If you don't see this file, make it as Ulmo has written. The full path would be

...\data\local\use
Do the right thing. It will gratify some people and astonish the rest.

Just create an file called "use" in the "data\local" folder. Write a single space in this file.
What is Ulmo ?
I thought I shouldn't have to answer this in a Middle-Earth related forum ;) It's the name of a character in The Silmarillion.
