i have dl and un ziped the mod and it comes up with "assertion failure location : c:\diablo2\source\d2win\src\d2comp.ccp, line #3065 expression : etype <=ptitemtypeTbl->nsize" in both the mod and normal d2 lod. wat have i dont wrong?

It might be an installation error, or you are trying to play the mod with the wrong version of Diablo II. For Middle Earth v1.92 you need Diablo II v1.10. There is a tutorial on running different game versions here if you need it.

If you are playing game version 1.10, check to be sure the mod is fully installed according to Varaya & Khan's instructions. Or if you are using the mpq version, follow these steps:

1. Rename patch_D2.mpq in your game directory to something like patch_D2.blizz.
2. Copy in the patch_D2.mpq from the mod download.
3. Play the mod.
4. Rename the mod patch_D2.mpq to something like patch_D2.ME
5. Rename patch_D2.blizz to patch_D2.mpq.

Rinse and repeat as necessary.

Or you can install the mpq in a mod directory (especially if you use PlugY, other threads here talk about using that). Then use a script or shortcut to launch the game.
