-1 to Skill X

Post by Ignaitus » Sun Mar 06, 2011 7:01 pm

Would it be possible without coding to create an spell affix that decreases a skill level?
And if so, how would you think of it if that affix and other negative affixes would be added into a mod? Similar to Diablo I.

What about negative allskills?
Unless you want it to be -1 from Specific Skill. Thank you may use negative oskill.

You should also know oskills apply a Level Requirements .. +6 as I remember.
This could affect in some strange ways if you're not careful ;)

But do you think if its possible to put in -X to any skill w/o coding or will the game read that affix with no trouble?

I think there might be no problems, except the +6 Required Levels Applied to the item with the affix.

Good, I had a bad feeling that the game would not register that sort of negative value concerning skills, as long as the lvl req is there as you said it should be ok.....

Nothing special would happen though.
As far as I actually know Skills can't go negative, so this might be not a problem.
Anyway if my information is wrong.A skill with level 0 is unusable a skill with level -1 or more would be unusable also, and you just to invest more points to get it usable.
I don't actually see what's the problem with this?

Also..I was thinking about the oskill's and their level requirements, and it flashed to me that you should combine it with another stat when using it, which applies -6 to required level.
This way you got +6 from o skill and -6 from requirements which is 0 and means no problems.

Wish you luck ;]
