raising life drain would be too annoying too me. how about it lowers your max life and mana?

I think joel was saying he wasn't sure the skill was good enough not that it was too good and needed negatives added to it, think of a way to make it more worthwhile not worse, it's supposed to be a lvl 50 skill the it should be really good

You got it right Aedeon ... so is the mgic find bonus enough for a lvl 50 skill or should I add something or change another system (like removing MF from affix pool etc ...)

Well, you could always give it some fancy %gold find, too.
Maybe a fixed bonus (50%), while the %MF rises.

By the way, if you use the graphix from the D2 Sanctuary skill (you know, the pally's skill vs. undeads), it would be pretty neat. I don't know if you ever used it, but it let the floor glance and sparkle lightly. As if there would be gold :)

Ok, so I've done such :

Titania's Song ; Aura level 50
Adds +50% gold find
Adds +20% MF +10% per slvl

So :

Lvl 1 => 20% MF
Lvl 10 => 120% MF
lvl 20 => 220% MF

suffisent ? too much ? suxx or roxx ?

Actually, damage and especially magic find are those things that people want want want want want like the gold of Kali Baba, and any skill or even character with a bonus will get picked over the others. People pick barbs solely for find item, after all. So unless you want 99% of Hell games to be full of these doing P. Indleskinarius runs...

Yep, ppl will max 1 other skill (the one Pindleskinbyanyothername is not immune to) and the MF aura and do 1000 runs of said boss... costs them 50-60 skill points at most.

The other chars will get played of course... but any char with a bonus to MF will get used (exclusively) by the MFing crowd, which makes up 99.9975% of the population. People will use him to MF for their other chars. And it's a mage too, so ppl don't even need good eq to outfit their MF char with either. 210% is plenty, enough for the high level char to use 1 or 2 other MF items and nothing but mana% and +skill uniques.

How about 50% at level 20, or 10%+2slvl% (48%)? It'd replace a shako. Not godly, just a nice bonus, and it'll make the MF ppl kick themselves all the way while maxing it knowing that it won't make a difference but who knows, if they don't max it then the first elite archangel blade they run across might be yellow...
(the forgot-to-switch-to-Gull-and-got-rare-hydra-bow-and-hanged-myself syndrome)

That way, the newbie MF people will use mostly this char (when you've got no decent eq to start with, every % matters) and it'll give the aura a point, but when their actual finds start dwarfing the aura bonus they'll move on to other chars that may be able to run Orc Lord Pindarius a bit faster, or ignore the aura for their next chars and max some actual kill skills instead.

yep your right.
The fact is that boss run is irrelevant in CW-AT as any boss have small chance to drop nice stuff ... and if you spot only one Boss type, you'll endlessly got the same stuff out :P

So let say : 15% MF + 1.5%/slvl for a total of 45% at slvl 20 ??

hmmm.... I say 100% at lvl 20. so...

lvl1 - 5%
lvl10 - 50%
lvl20 - 100%

5% for each level sounds good for me. plus, remember, its an aura so that they will have to put it on their right-click mouse tab which might be annoying for some classes if you still have the skill teleport. if not, then they will probably assign F keys to different skills and that aura. (I know I do :mrgreen:)

(Comparing to CLoD items) that'd be the equivalent of a Skullder's at level 80+, or a shako + seven MF small charms, or a Wealth or a socketed topaz armor or Tancred's ammy + second Tancred's item + some small charms...

So you're giving the aura the equivalent of one or two majorly overpowered unique items which no one but the MF junkies ever find, or the equivalent of about a full poor man's MF outfit...

I think I agree with Laz a +40 or +60% bonus at full level is nice.

I find 60% to low.
Keep in mind that you will have to give up some other aura to keep on. And that other chars' lvl 50 skills will do great killing, sth. Titanias Song lacks. If they kill more, they get more good items, too.
Plus, you get it late.

At least, I'd say, keep the gold find.

Or what about that:
- a fixed 50% MF
- gold find raises (about 200% at level 20)

I like that one very well.

well, it depends. On mods such as NDX gold was important. On other mods such as mine, it isn't as important. Is gold going to be important in your mod?

Well, first, it's not only gold find. The MF is still there.

And gold find depends on what you can buy. If you can buy runes/gems/crafting ingredients, it is valuable.
If there are great uniques to gamble for, it is valuable.

Other than that...probably not.

Thinking about it, you are probably right, though. Since it's the only benefit from higher skill levels...hmm. Yes, you're right. It's not enough.

What about:
Slowly rising %MF (+2-3% each level) and fixed %GF
In addition, sth. thunderstorm like. Or let it work as a mastery for some skills!
Or give it a marginal bonus to exp after a kill :diabolic:
