Is it possible...to make a base weapon or armor be automatically Ethereal or Indestructible? And if so, how would you go about doing this?
EDIT: You can make items indestructible by putting a 1 in the 'nodurability' column in weapons or armor.txt, but how is it possible to make an item already ethereal?

because "ethereal" is a quality (like cracked, normal, superior, etc.) and not a magic tag (like indestruct is), I don't think there is any way to make an item automatically spawn as ethereal. Though it's easy to do with the indestrutible mod in automagic.txt
Perhaps .dll editing would help (no clue about that, though).
And you probably already know you can create Cube recipe to make items ethereal. But I know that's not exactly what you're looking for.
