Serious noob question

which mpq is skilldesc.txt in? I am trying to create a new aura and i cant seem to locate it

You'll find it in Data\Global\Excel; in Patch_D2.mpq

Ya that is the first place i looked but it isnt in there - maybe my data file is out of date. Is there a new one for MPQviewer v1.1 past 1.09b or is there a better program i can use to extract the .txt files that has an updated one?

It was for D2 1.13c.
Check the file center, there's plenty of utilities : downloadsystemcat?id=13

If it's not in Patch_D2.mpq, try d2exp.mpq, then d2data.mpq.

I found it - was in patch_d2.mpq i just had an outdated data file and it wasnt showing thanks a bunch
