Baal Spawn Modding - need your help

Hello everybody,

yesterday I made the first modding attempts.
it worked so far. I spawned Baal in Tristram.

but it ended in a little mess.

Far too many Baals were spawned in one place.
So I made the corresponding value lower, and it worked.

I now have the problem that Baal only spawns at 2 spots in Tristram. and after his death he spawns again and again.
the baals also almost die by themselves. as if their attacks harm each other.

I now have the following questions and hope for your help:
what do you have to adjust where, that baal in tristram spawns in many different places and not just in 2 spots.

how can you stop it from being re-spawned baal after death?

and what is it that baal almost dies by itself?

Hi

My guess is that you edited something wrong in Monstats.txt which corrupts your baalmonster.
The high spawnrate you talk about could be caused by the MonDen columns in Levels.txt that are set with a too high value.

Here I give you a link with the lines I use in both Monstats.txt and Levels.txt to make baal spawnable in any level:

Just copy my lines to your .txt files as an extra line and edit yours where needed.
You can check the Knowledge Base section on the forum and read through the desired file guides so you can see which columns are mandatory to edit in order to make the baalmonster spawn correctly.
Other columns can be edited to your own liking.

I've had the same thoughts that something is wrong with Monstats.
I tried to edit Baal's attacks because I wanted to get rid of the tentacles.

I had already set the MonDen from 3000 to 50. There were then also significantly less spanned, but only at 2 spots.

do you know why baal always keeps spawning after death?
I probably have to clean up the monstats file again.

Thank you for the file, I'll take a closer look when i'm back home.

And before i forget, is it correct to use "baalcrab" for edit? Cause i didnt find "baal" ?!

Sometimes the tiniest edit in the .txt files can cause your game to misbehave, therefor I don't change much to the skills from the act bosses for example.
Regarding the fixed spawnnumber and deathspawn could be an issue in Monstats.txt. Compare my files with yours and see if there any major differences that could cause this issue.
And you should indeed use a copy of the line from BaalCrab to edit.
