How do I orient the first body of a monster in a level?

How do I orient the first body of a monster in a level?

I'm curious about monster ai
When entering a certain level, is there a way to know which direction the monster is looking at first?

It seems to be randomized. You can check by giving the monster aidist=1, so that the AI won't activate until you are very close.
