Eerht finally bit the dust when I was not paying attention to the amount of summons that I had, sometimes if you rush past a group of monsters then your summons quickly attack them and take the aggro from you. Currently with all the +skills I have I summon 25 skel's and a golem. It was a dark one that finally took my life, next round its going to be a focus on increasing my life pool. Booster charms are a blessing!

Ruof equipped a charm that allowed the summoning of a blood golem and Eerht had prepared a lvl 1 charm before hand with all the +20 psn dmg jewels, a nice 6 slot hex charm with + life and attack rating. Quickly Ruof was up to lvl 20 when an ogre demon one hit killed him.. Time to utilize the walk function!!!

Off to a slow start with Evif the paladin, got to level 7 but have to head out to work soon so time to put the demon slaying down for a bit.

Sweet progress from all the updaters! Love some of the names you all have introduced. :) The gods of Everquest especially have struck my fancy... I've spent the last two days reminiscing on the half a decade I played that as ardently as I have been playing Zy-El. Ahhhhhh, memories.

Raahja, you make a url into a single word by doing the following:
This is the [uurl=http://thisis.mylink.com/pic.jpg]WORD[/uurl] to which I wish to attach a link.

Use that, but spell url with just one "u" and you should be good to go. :) Obviously the linked phrase does not have to be capitalized...

------------
Pride the Amazon
The first thing Pride accomplished yesterday was to make herself a pair of Catastrophe gloves, which were a wonderful addition to her gear. She was then able to up the players setting to p16 and do Cold Plains/Burial Grounds/The Cave to collect more goodies.

Soon after the day's festivities began, she found two gem shrines right next to each other! She made a standard ruby out of her stash of chips and flaweds, ran them through the double shrine, and now has the Perfect Ruby with which to make her Life BoCL belt. She won't attempt to do so for a while yet, as she doesn't want her hopes dashed by a high-level belt that she can't wear for another 30 levels.

Halfway through level 36 she slowed down long enough to make herself a second ChoM, a Destroyer Minor. I debated between this and Speed, and figured this would pack more of a punch. She still has +3 life regeneration, so she could make a Speed next and only be at -1. Also under consideration were the Slogger, which seems a little too defensive just yet, and the Shield. The Shield has a wonderful 200 life on it, as well as 25% damage mitigation, but at that particular moment in time she was not being held back by her lack of life or defense, but by her lack of damage-dealing.

The last thing she did before heading back out to try her new toy was to socket the Pear Seed with which fortune favoured her into her Tall Charm of Life. Mooooooore tortuuuuuurrrrrrrreee!

The Destroyer and the extra life together worked well enough that she could do her Cold Plains and Burial Grounds runs a good bit more quickly. She did try to expand her routine to include Stony Field, but those nasty archers are still just too mean for her.

That was yesterday's update, and now it is time for Pride to run rampant once more in the Fields of Blood and Gore.

Good luck to everyone in all of your adventures!

Sadly the second Athena walked out of the town she got attacked by a fallen with a damage buff and got one hit. I was pretty surprised, but hey, her life gave 1 elixirs so I'm quite pleased with her performance.

introducing Macha the pegan goddess of life and death
So the second i took Macha out, she got a elixir on the FIRST kill. After running a few runs of bloodmore I decided to try out the cold plains, everything went smoothly and I killed bishbosh for my 3rd elixir.

I've almost runecrafted all my items. Other then my torso seeing as how it had 120 defense for a lvl 1 item.

so I made a booster charm, belt and boots. + 12 mana per kill is what I was getting those fore. Mist gloves, crackle glass for my shield and nadir for my helm.

Charms, I got a decent charm that adds 1-33 lighting damage and another one that adds 1-11 lighting damage. With all that I managed to create my first CHoM of the turney.

I also made a rare amulet that gives +1 to all assasin skill's just my luck.

PS. This is the first time in all my time playing diablo that I have played a assasin so far I've been liking it. Would a trap sin work in this mod or is martial art the dominant one?

Xon, you are doing great! A really nice start. :) As for the Assassin, I am personally going to use traps for at least all of Act I, and probably most of Act II. Near the end of Act II I will start building up her melee skills and make the transition. They will still be useful here and there, however, so she won't give up on them entirely.

Nice ring Raahja! And yep, that surely is a crappy Gigantor... *comfort*

------------
Pride the Amazon
Pride killed a bunch of monsters to get herself up to level 40, at which point she held her breath and made a Hydra Ring. I guess the breath-holding worked, as it was low enough for her to use!

With the ring, 532 life, and 260-1000 damage, she did what she had all but promised herself she would never do... she entered The Cave Level Two. Sadly, it worked out exactly as I expected that it would. The Hydras were kicking major booty, even at p16, but so were the Black Rogues. She roused a whole clan of those bad-ass beotches, which chased her down and eventually took her out. She managed to eliminate at least 8 in the process, and the Hydras that were left in the wake of her death took out four more, but it was all for nought. Ah well... you do something that stupid, you expect to pay the price! Onward to...
Sloth the Assassin
With a yawn of disenthusiasm, Sloth emerged from her chambers to take up the task left by her sister's untimely death. She listlessly pawed through the stash, seeking anything that might make her start in the war as effortless as possible.

She found a bunch of quad charms with poison damage and small amounts of elemental damage on them, and used a few cube scrolls to make a few more. Besides those items, the only thing of any use that Pride had passed on were enough resources to make a ChoM, and enough non-gold resources to make several ChoMs. Oh yeah, and a level 20 small charm with charges of Fire Golem on it.

Out she went with enough damage to kill everything in Blood Moor with two hits. Unfortunately, she could not hit most of it, and her 55 life meant that she could not stand around for too long trying to hit them. Regardless, she flew through the first 10 levels, at which point she started using Psychic Hammer. This worked out well, and she was through the Den of Evil by level 14. A Mana Regeneration shrine is a wonderful thing for a low-level, no-mana, psychic-hammer-throwing Assassin.

At level 15 she made herself a Healer ChoM and went up to p4 in Blood Moor, p2 in the Den. She did these two areas until level 21, at which point she made a second Healer ChoM. She debated about whether or not to use the Fire Golem charm, and decided to hold off until she actually needed it.

Sloth kept plodding along, level by level. She moved out to Cold Plains at p4, then Burial Grounds at p1. She knew that Pizza Heads and Rock Golems would have too much life for Psychic Hammer to take down efficiently if the players setting was any higher. However, she saw no Mush Heads at all, and the Rock Golems went down with one shot, so she bumped it back up to p4, cleared the rest of Cold Plains with ease, and decided to try Stony Field at p4. Amazingly, her rogue friend (the cold version, no less) was still alive through her clearing of Stony Field! In the last corner of the field, Sloth set p127 to pop a chest, as she always does to pop chests, but then forgot to set it back to p4... :x The group of Pickled Peckers who lived in that corner saw their chance and charged her en masse. She was mowing them down with little absentminded flicks of her wrist, too lazy to move back when they got close. At p4, the last two or three would not hurt her enough to even notice before she obliterated them, as well. At p127, though, all it took was a hit each from the three of them, and it was lights out.

She made it to level 31. She has 433 life, 221 mana, and her Psychic-hammer does 1370 average damage at skill level 26 (24 hard, 2 from her Katar).

It has not taken me all that long to get out of the super-cautious approach to playing, has it? Not only is that a little sad, it's also really scary. I need that caution to play the HC tourney! I had better get a grip on myself.

Let's be honest, Sloth was really looking forward to taking a break, to having a little dirt nap to break the monotony of crushing the minions of Hell with her mind. She was more than happy to let someone else have a chance and do some of the work. Onward again to...
Avarice the Necromancer
The previous two unexpected deaths have left the larder all but bare. Not even enough gold to make a ChoM at level 15. Avarice scrounged together a few charms with +6 life on them, shopped for a while to get a few basic pieces of gear, and left town little more prepared than a brand-spanking-new-stash character would have done.

The first scare of his life came about ¾ths of a second after he left the gates. I suddenly remembered that the setting was still at p127 from Sloth's moronic death! Avarice ducked back through the gates, set p1, and reset the game to ensure that no monsters spawned with mega-life.

He started using skeletons at level 5. He sank 10 hard points into the skill over the next 10 levels and wielded a +2 wand to get 12 skeletons total. They are so incredibly weak without Mastery, it is almost not worth using them. However, since reaching level 20, they are slowly, skill point by skill point, becoming more useful.

He is currently level 25 and has put 6 points into Mastery so far. Besides putting a single hard point into any other useful skills that arise over the next 35 levels, he will devote all of his new points to Skeleton Mastery. At level 60, he will start building up his Skeletal Mage army.

Truthfully, Avarice is an accident waiting to happen, so to speak. He is wandering around Blood Moor, Cold Plains, and the Burial Grounds with 138 life at p16. At least it's not p127, right?

He has been getting lots of loot, true to his name, and now has enough gold to buy the Elixirs for a ChoM. As well, he had an Elixir drop from Bishibosh and two scroll drops for “X gem to elixir.” Tomorrow he will be able to make two ChoMs – a Healer and a Finder. Or maybe a Shield. He is Avarice, though, so probably a Finder.

Good luck to everyone in all of your Zy-Elling Adventures!

I have finally went through a full round of deaths for each character after Neves was slain by a Pecker! Damn mobs of Peckers!!! I definitely fare the best with summons as they act as meat shields for all that potential damage. I made a ChoM and used it as a summons to bring forth some Magi as they have a good amount of life even without a mastery skill and can take a fare amount of damage, and seeing that it only costs a chipped skull to recharge!

Time to revisit Eno and equip her with some new gear!

I'm very suprised that you died before I did Clersius :( Though you have me outscored by a goodly amount....

Fiorna is now in ACT2. I decided that I will be moving on as soon as it is possible to do so... until my level outlevels my damage :)

I made a amulet for my merc from 7x2swords so I shouldnt have to rez her as often now that her health is almost 3000. Also, eplaced her Arctic Fur set piece with a Pride RW chest. She also got a Hydra ring to make more fire snakes. You can never have too many fire snakes :)

Had some good leveling with Kalchas over the last couple of days. He had invested all the skill points he could into Ravens until level 40, when he went for Wolves. He had been playing at p127 for the last 20 levels... A second of carelessness, and he was down for the count.

Artemisia gets her second shot at glory, now.

Made my way back to playing Eerht who just finished Duriel and moving onto act 3. Made a Major ChoM and finally have my Magi, I only put 2 hard skill points into it and will continue to focus on increasing my mastery. Will rely on all the +skill items I get. I rolled a +5 crft ammy for necro from 7-2 of stars and dropped a +2 all skills uncommon scroll on it. The amulet also has a +2293 life bonus on it 8-O

dr. I pray for the day I get an amulet like that v.v

So I'm quiet surprised I have yet to end up killing Macha because of her slow killing rate and the amount of monsters that surround her. I've ran raven and coldplain at players for several times. Once I hit lvl 30 i made this amulet Amulet Which made my life a lot easier. I was able to advance into the underground cave. I got a bit to cocky and went into the underground cave level 2 running at player 4. I quickly and I mean quickly lost my merc. This was a sad loss but not a grave one as she had almost gotten me killed several times. I decided not to re-buy my merc as I got this charm which is a hundred folds better Charm I then saved cain. (forgot to save him the first time.. >.>) I've also gotten my 2nd CHoM which I am using as a master's. I'm yet to have any 2 piece of a single poster... lol

Macha is now level 40 and I'm starting to like the game play assassins provide.

I want some opinions, What CtC ring should I make on a assassin? I mean as of right now i'm rarely using my auto attack but it would still be nice to have a CtC ring IMO

Artemisia was running the Stone Fields and Cold Plains. She ran through Cold Plains twice, and finished the burial ground. 2 common scrolls for chip/flawed gem to elixir dropped, along with an elixir from rashiniku. Artemisia crafted her second CHoM. When she reached level 20, she was able to equip this charm giving her a nice little army. She reached level 26 before her untimely death at the hands of a pecker.

as far as CtC goes, I hear that having some hydras is really nice. Especially when they fill the whole screen.

I find as a melee character I like to have a ctc static field ring and a ctc decrepify ring. Hydras just seem to block my vision too much.

Echo the Assassin
She did a lot of runs on Blood Moor, Cold Plains, Den of Evil, The Hole in Cold Plains, Burial Grounds, The Crypt, The Mausoleum, Stony Field and Dark Woods. She was looking for poster fragments and elixirs. She died on p32 in hand of Rankishu (or something like that) in Stony Field. But she hit 51 level. I don't have good equipment for her to move on... :/ That's why she stayed and leveled up some. Had a lot XP shrines sometimes 2 on one map. No special runewords nor items. Maybe I overdid and that's why she died :P Darn... Next character Doctor Strange

@drconfused: Slow down!! What is this, a race?

@Rahhja: More details! What kind of life does she have, what is difficult about her journey, what are the weaknesses in her offense and defense? Glad you made the Shields... those are life savers, for sure.

@bro: Don't ever again let me hear that you were killed by Kobolds, not even at level 1! :x Good luck with your Barbie, though. :D

----------------
Avarice the Necromancer
True to his plan, Avarice started the day by making two ChoMs, a Healer and a Finder. He continued fighting at p127, clearing out area after area, amassing more gold, and making more ChoMs. As true as he was to his plan, he was also to his nature. Four flawless gems were fashioned from the excess of gems in the stash, which gems were then used to put four sockets into his 39% Extra Gold Quad Charm. These sockets he then filled with %EG jewels ranging from 23% to 28%. He had been filling his inventory with all manner of charms that would give him a bit more gold per kill, to the neglect of his life, his mana pool, indeed to the neglect of anything save his overpowering greed. He managed to raise his %EG up to just over +500% by the time he had cleared out Stony Field.

His choices at this juncture were to restart and clear everything again or to enter the Underground Passage and try forging ahead. He was level 46, so he opted to move forward. By level 49 he was some ways through the Passage, wincing every time a new pack of Afflicted were encountered. Those things hit hard, and take out skeletons fairly quickly. His miniscule mana pool was not up to the task on its own, and he sometimes had to head back to town after a battle to plead with Akara to regenerate his blue bubble to full capacity in order to restore his army of 24 Skeletons and a Clay Golem.

He was busy collecting the shiny bits of gold from around some fresh corpses, his army still picking off the remaining Tombrats, when he edged a little too close to the action. A tombrat, the last one in the room in fact, took exception to being taken for granted through Avarice's inattention and laid into him, but good! One hit was all it took, even with 430 life.

Another relatively unexpected death to add to the growing total, and another character enters the world with few resources to back him up. Apologies go out to...

Lust the Barbarian
Actually, that was an unfair statement. The stash contained two Rixot's Keen unique Short Swords and a Biggin's Bonnet, which was a big headstart for Lust. As well, there existed a healthy selection of starting charms with assorted elemental damage and even a little life. There were also enough Two of Swords to fashion the first TC amulet, a real loser! That was unfortunate, but he rallied his morale, chose what he thought he needed from the rest of the supplies, and headed out the gates at p4, ready for the challenge... and ready for BLOOD!!

He flew through the first fifteen levels with ease, then slowed down a bit. He put a point into Bash and a point into Howl, which he uses judiciously to keep the odds from overwhelming him, or even whelming him for that matter.

At level 18 or so, he was able to make his first Healer ChoM. At level 20 he started pumping up Sword Mastery. His second ChoM came at level 25, and against his nature he decided to make it a Shield. At least he learned something from Avarice's death – even if your bent is predefined, don't let it completely rule your development! That is to say, Avarice allowed his vice to sway him towards making Finder ChoMs instead of the more prudent choice, a pair of Shields.

Lust kept at it, killing in the lower-level areas at p16 and p8 to be safe. He did manage to go through the Underground Passage at level 32. He prudently ran around avoiding Woodfist while simultaneously nabbing the Scroll of Inifuss. He knew that Burning Dead in Tristram would stop him cold at any setting higher than p1, but he tried them at p8 anyway. Sure enough, they hit like trucks against such a low-level character, and his Bone Shield was eaten up in a trice. However, he noticed that they had spawned without shields, so he decided to take full advantage of that fact. He beat a hasty retreat to the portal, regrouped, lowered to p1, refreshed his Bone Shield, and dove back in.

Using several Bone Shield charges, he managed to eliminate the p8-spawned Burning Dead, and the rest of the area was a cake walk at p1, even Griswold. That makes Lust the first character to free Deckard Cain and stop spending money on scrolls of Identify. Yay, Lust!

In his mid-to-late 30s, he made himself another pair of ChoMs, again a Healer and a Shield, bringing him up to 1000 life. At level 40 he fashioned together a Phoenix runeword, and by this point his ability to do damage had outstripped his capacity to soak it up. His lack of ability to kill things at higher players settings and his lack of meaningful amounts of %Extra Gold from Monsters meant that his gold resources were simply pathetic. His plan was to save up to make either a Gigantor, hoping for a high life percent, or save up to make a Pride armor, or both. At the same time, he would hope that enough Treasure Cards and TC manipulation scrolls dropped to try for another amulet.

At level 43, the last Two of Stars was acquired to make a 7 x Two of Stars amulet that he could actually use! With his 3600 life now more on par with his damage, he decided to make another Phoenix runeword in a Hex Charm. That's where he stands now, ready to... well, what is his plan? He could do some farming at high players settings in order to help out those who follow, or he could forge ahead and finish the Act in order to gain access to better runes and better drops. He could combine the two by finishing the Act to get better runes, then come back and farm in Act I. He won't be able to do much in Act II beyond p4, most likely, at least not until he gets Battle Orders, or a Life BoCL belt with some levels behind it. We'll see what happens, I guess. :D

Good luck to the rest of you in your Zy-El adventures!

Level 123 and about to enter Upper Kurast. Been pretty steady experience through ACT3 while running at p/16. Finished my 3rd poster (Sailor Moon, DragonBall Z, Bugs Bunny) so my next guys will get a great opening boost.

Not sure what my plan is for Mephisto. I can't see doing the regular runs to get Zy runes with the map refreshing everytime. I may just do a few runs for experience and a dozen Zy runes to make word/oath RW's and then move on to ACT4, though I will need to eventually do some farming somewhere to get the needed resources for a GF jewel. Oh well...more tomorrow.

I have gotten a lot of work done on Clytemnestra and Rasputin.

Clytemnestra now has 2 shield CHoMs and a healer CHoM. She has been running around with a pack of 6 dire wolves.

Rasputin got a grizzly bear enlisted into his services and at players 127 cleared the blood moor, thus gaining him 12 levels. He randomly took a hit from skeleton (not his own) and bit the dust.

Xerxes is now going to take another try with his axe.

Clytemnestra's exploits got 400K into the stash... I have enough (including current elixirs/scrolls) to make 4 more CHoMs

EDIT
-------
Xerxes died, too... he may or may not have crafted 9 mist quad charms giving him a total damage of 800 - 2200 on his bash attack... lot of good it did him, though. Oh well, Leonidas is next!
