Upgradeing to elite items?

Ok, I just read the readme and it said to put an excptional item and a heart in the cube. I put a Balista, and a heart in the cube. That met the requirments for a collus(sp?) heavy crossbow, the elite version of the heavy crossbow. When I transmuted the crossbow, It came up with an elite gnarled staff, the Eldar staff. This is pretty bad for me, since I wanted that Crossbow. I'm gonna try it again once I get the Gold,but untill then this seems a problem.

I'm going to have to take a look at the cube recipes because there have been other reports of similar problems like this.

I just got an Eldar staff after trying to upgrade gothic bow -> hydra bow : /

Some things will upgrade to their elite counterparts and other things will damn you with that elder staff, you kinda just have to chance it..

if you want to make a hydra bow, upgrade a LONG WAR BOW those work.

i tryed it with the LONG WAR BOW buth it doesn't work
i used a torch to make a gothic bow and then a heart , so what am i doing wrong?

and it is the same with blade talons to greater talons with a torch

is there an elite and exceptional version of the great axe? I tried and ended up with a cresent....kinda disappointing!

What would be a good two handed weapon besides the great axe? I dont like using shields when trying to use fury against hordes of cows, end up blockin too much to hit anything!

Use the unique thunder maul, its awesome, and its two-handed

gold is very easy to get. you probably never have to worry about dying either

get goldfind and you'll have all the gold you need and you wont have to worry about it

There still should be droppable hearts.
