Is Light Green (lgrn) and Dark Green (dgrn) actually the same color?

I've been testing color codes in colors.txt for item color transformations.

The colors are, from left to right:

Image

Code: Select all

whit lgry dgry blac lblu
dblu cblu lred dred cred
lgrn dgrn cgrn lyel dyel
lgld dgld lpur dpur oran
bwht
It appears that Light Green (lgrn) and Dark Green (dgrn) are really the same color.

Are my eyes correct, or do you see a difference?

The gfx driver used to test makes a minor difference (the software modes use the dat palette info, the HW use the PL2 info). It also depends slightly on the input image, and if gamma has been applied.

Of course the easy way to check is really just to diff the two entries in the PL2 or the dat file.
