Re: data to MPQ convert
I usually recommend winmpq as its similar to archivers most people are used to like 7zip or winrar and most. Winmpq is explained in detail in the Beginners guide
Re: data to MPQ convert
Thanks i will read through it now
EDIT : ok all done quite a while ago but now i don't know how to make my mpq not containing the txt files so other people will not see what i have modified. i know its possible cause i have downloaded patches which didn't contain txt files in the excel folder.
if i delete them i get an error when i click on single player..

I don't remember exactly which ones, but certain few .txt are necessary, that may be the problem.
Check which .txt have their .bin generated by the game. For these ones you normally don't have to put the .txt as well. But for the .txt that don't have the .bin, put the .txt.
On totaly another subject, please, don't double post, instead edit your precedent post, as edited post will be marked as new anyway. I did it for you this time.

Its Sounds.txt and SoundEnviro.txt, the game reads these files as txt's, the bins they generate are merely for internal id linksPaul Siramy" wrote:I don't remember exactly which ones, but certain few .txt are necessary, that may be the problem.
