Keep Update 01/06/2005

Post by Phrozen Heart » Thu Jan 06, 2005 5:21 pm

Happy new year and greetings from glorious ice-covered Illinois ;) This state has the screwiest and least consistant weather of any bloody country I've ever been to. Ah well, it happens. Just checking my resource of weird and wonderful celebrartions for today's date and apparently today wasn't a particularly good day for US President Theodore Roosevelt (1919), jazz performer Dizzy Gillespie (1993) or skater Nancy Kerrigan (1994) although it was the debut of Porky Pig so it's not all bad :D

LOTTERY NEWS
Ummm...yeah. Well with the new year and all, apparently I errr...forgot to turn the lottery back on so we don't a winner to announce this week  I've restarted it for next week so hopefully this next round will be snag-free.

HOSTED NEWS
Hosted modmaker reiyo_oki has rebuilt his Dragon's Uprising mod from the ground up and this week sees the fruits of his labor in the form of the reworked mod's first beta! If you want to take a look at the announcement feel free or head right to the source for the full scoop :)

My first Keep update of the new year strangely enough also yields two updates to my own side projects. Infinitum has received a light update with I_only_pressed_Esc reworking his Spider token and Nefarius once again contributing a resized member of the undead, this time it's the ghast (from Icewind Dale I think). To make it look like I actually do something over there, I've also ripped, zipped and uploaded 20 new maps from Baldur's Gate 2 for your map making pleasure.

The other branch of my side projects is the Pagan Heart mod with my co-modder and girlfriend Pagan Rainfall. In an effort to beat back the latest wave of bugs we released v0.78b on Sunday but sadly the torrent was too strong and as such 0.79b is in production (although 0.78b is still a good investment in the meantime). Thank you very much for all the interest this mod seems to have stirred up and as such we have moved to our own forum so drop by if you get a chance ;)

For those who haven't seen the sad announcement, I_only_pressed_Esc has essentially announced the death of his Fight To Survive mod which was lost due to CD backup failure which is something that plagues most of us at some point or another. Despite this project being scrapped, he has a new one in the works so keep an eye out :D

OTHER NEWS
NightStar has announced the release of his Halls of Glory mod which appears to be an alround tweaking mod designed to send gameplay in a slightly new direction. You can read the full intro and grab the download link from his thread in our Member Announcements forum.

Not a hugely busy week in modding? Maybe not, but with the holidays I gues everyone has an excuse for now ;)
If you want me to miss you, you have to GO AWAY first...

That is one way to keep the usual suspects from grabbing another pot...
Do the right thing. It will gratify some people and astonish the rest.

Actually this could be the only way ;)
I am really interested when the "OT-newbie" will win the lottery :)
