I mean, or you could just open up regedit, go to the Diablo II folder, and change AllowHardcore to 1 lol

(or search for Diablo II key)

This gives access to the check box to create a harcore character, but it is possible to create a normal character as wel.

It's this value that the game changes when we finish the game once and the hardcore mode is unlocked

I want make a HC only mod, and fix the option to choose hardcore! Must look the same like the option of Lord of Destruction only characters to choose expansion is fixed! I don't know wich file I have to edit, and if its really hard to do! I have very basic modding skills, but I just need a file to start with:)

i got the solution of it. you can make the players in sc mode could not create a game,then you can achieve the same purpose as only hc mode they can get .
