Some nice maps :)

Wish I had the patience to such things... keep up the good work!

These screens are really nice...
:shocked!:
I was wondering when you actually started, I mean when did the first map editing begin. I'd actually like to get a rough idea of how long it takes to get these kinda results, due to the fact that I haven't even gotten to maps yet on my mod...

Well, like the work anyway.

humm I have been editing maps for 2 Years or so on a couple projects.

On Shadow Empires id say its been 9 or 10 months. I would like to finish all 5 acts in 12 months. So were right on schuedle. :) Keep in mind that Shadow Empires is a exstremly large map project as most areas are all custom made presets. So how long it may take you realy depends on your maping skills, (ability to use tools involved and your artistc flare) time and your learing curve. Mapping is a VERY detailed time consuming aspect of modding.

Those shots look awsome. can't wait to play it. I'm new to modding so you should take my advice with a grain of salt but in your personal room you should put an infinite stash chest or find a way to store items on some sort of dresser or shelves. that would be cool

The latest Map project is nearly completed just a few finishing touches to fluff out.

As always the shots of the levels can be viewed here.

Weeeeeelllllllll, after looking at the screenshots provided, I can honestly say that if SE was released tomorrow, that anybody making a mod would down tools just for to play it.
I would class SE as an expansion pack rather than a mod.
What tremendous work is being done!!!!! 8-O

Joel, Black Heart and who ever is working on this project, I bow to you.

looks like it's going to be a great mod, always willing to try new ones. Like I haven't already tried them all and pretty much have taken up all my gig space, but i will make room for this one for sure.

will keep track of when this one is being released...definately is going to be on my list as a favorite just from the screenshots and the title screen with boobies 8-O

Impressive work,

skill icons are taken from WC3 i guess ;)

I would like to know some details on your modding work, as i make mods
myself ( though, about a billion times simpler ones at the moment ):

-> How many modders work on SE? (Black Heart, Joel,...?)

-> When did you start learning modding (esp. Joel and Bl. Heart)

-> @ Black Heart: You said, you would like to finish mapping in 12 months... but how often do you work on SE (days/week, houres/day ?)

-> Who does what kind of work? I mean is there any seperation who makes map editing, skill adjusting, imageing etc.

-> Did SE needed code editing or will it need some, and if so how much?

Maybe thats was a little to much questions, but...
im just curious

By the way, anyone recognized the inscription of the Diablo 2 Battle Chest (English V) that says: << DIABLO 2 - Kiss your social life 'good bye' >> ? There is much more truth in this sentence than you may think ;)

Joel in D1 times, BH dunno, me in 2001. ;)

In space, no one can hear you scream... BH is dead, gone, buried and corpse exploded.

Joel: everything, me: skill ideas [& leaving it to Joel to do the labour], BH: nothing.

Very much, as in 'it'd be easier to program D3 from scratch' amounts... lucky for us, Joel prefers taking the hard way.

:?: :?: :?:
:?: :?: :?:
What do u mean BlackHeart is gone?
He left the SE-modder-team or what?
(if so since when? and maybe why?)

And who does the Mapping now?

*confused*

<Edit> @Brother Laz
I just have to say that:

"In space, no one can hear you scream... "

Let me guess...
Taken from "ALIENS", first part. I have seen every part of ALIENS at least 5 times (part 1+2, which are by far the better ones (esp. part 2) even more... for sure over 30 times).

So, do i guess right?

It would be cool to have another diablo type rpg.
Hell, I'd pay money for that.

No, it would not. Even if we keep the resource (graphics, sounds...) files, it would certainly be much longer and complicated to make a whole new engine than use the existing one with a little code editing.
