I tried using Nirvana Grass, but the maidens override it with curses, and I can't kill much in 45 seconds anyway.

Curses should not override the nirvana grass. If yours are then you have something wrong. I generally only use one when I kill Lister and crew. I may start taking them with me into the Poppy Farm, or just using ones I find in there. The bosspacks of Directors or whatever they are called in there, give pretty good xp.

Grica finally made it to level 96. 95 to 96 was a very, very long level. I'm sure the next four will be even longer. I'm guessing he will probably not make it to 97 before GF#1 ends on Halloween. I have recently bumped it up to /players8 (thanks to Oskill BoS!), so who knows. Lister barely pays out even when I do all the minions after him. I'd like to try XPing in the Domain, but I don't want to risk Grica's tournament death so it's taken a back seat for now.

Disagree utterly and completely. Have never even understood when this topic comes up in tourneys. What's so hard about looking at a table?

I think it's good to recall the history. I'm not big on erasing history from the record books, because those involved aren't around anymore. I wouldn't want that to happen to my efforts, for sure.

Naturally, as many as we have play, and have entered the Ladder, and as many characters they make, there will be a lot on it. But, again.....what's the big deal? What's wrong with that?

Just more to climb over, is the way I look at it.

Because to be honest...I don't even understand the purpose of the ladders at all. The Millionaires' Club already ranks all tournament players. The Power Ranking does the same thing. The few players that do even take the time to put their entries on the ladders are already tournament players.

EDIT: I want to add a few more thoughts because I consider you a good friend, Bill, and I don't want you to misunderstand me. We've always been open with each other, so I'll be completely open with you — IMO the ladders as they are set up now are worthless. Why? Because they are completely voluntary in participation. If everyone participated in the ladders that would be different. But, A) very, very few players of the total tourney and non-tourney players ever enter the ladders; and B) those that do remember to add ladder characters often forget about them and never update. So, it's a double whammy making the ladders the way they are now pretty meaningless.

It's a ranking system and ranking systems need to have credibility. If very few people update their ladder characters, then the information is not credible.

I don't know what the answer is, Bill. I don't know if there's a better way to go about the ladders. But, unless changes are made, I can't ever see many players having the desire to participate in the ladders.

Metro, I believe you've been to diabloii.net. This idea was brought brom there. No difference. It was very popular there, in the exact same format it is here.

Now, does that mean the hundreds who frequented there all took part? No. It's voluntary. I personally don't give a hoot, if someone chooses not to, or chooses not to update. I do. And, others do. We have high level characters to shoot for already, so a basis is already there.

This is a character ladder, as opposed to your afforementioned rankings.

Sorry you don't take part too much in it, and I believe that colors your comments. That's your preference.

It's not a big deal and I'm certainly not going to remove them or anything crazy like that. I was just speaking my mind. I don't participate in them for probably the same reasons a lot of players don't — A) I rarely remember to enter a character at the beginning of a tournament; B) If I do remember to enter a character at the beginning of a tournament, I almost never remember to update the character; C) The ladders don't mean a lot to me because very few of the top players participate and those are the players I want to be ranked with.

One of the main reasons I stopped playing ES a few years back was because the first HC ladder got reset. I can't quite recall the character exactly, but it was a throwing barb...

I think the best way of immortalizing a character at the moment is the hall of fame in the wiki. I plan to put up 7 chars(one of every class) there but it will take a few years i guess

Nah but he disappeared right after that. Last time I saw a post from him was in the Ask the Experts sticky. I dunno if you were inferring that his "blunder" had anything to do with him being MIA, but I think he understood why it had to happen. He didn't seem upset about it anyways.

Edit: Up to level 20. Still in Act 1 Normal, on the way to the Horadric Malus quest. Still can't get that damned Autolycus set armor, but I finally got the shoes and belt. Picked up the Glowblast axe. Main skills are currently Winter Fury and Molten Boulder, with Spirit Wolf L3 and Oak Sage from my hat.

Edit2: Whoops, just noticed I forgot to change his level when I moved him on the table. And he's at 23 now, finally has full Autolycus. Using Poseidon's Trident, other gear mostly the same.

Alright I added my Assassin (named Assassin, I couldn't think of a name) who is lvl44 and a Shadow Iaigiri user. one question I have is how do you get the table all nicely formmatted for when it's posted?

[EDIT] my save file got corrupted and I had to restore a backup unfortunately that backup was about 12 lvls earlier >_>
