The second patch for preview version is released.


DISCLAIMER!!

Older characters is no longer compatible.

This due to a major change in the Legend Point system. You can still play with your old character but can no longer buy any stats or skills.

How to install?

Make sure you have preview version installed before install the patch (you don't need to install first patch for preview version to upgrade the patch)

Install this patch to the directorty where you have your Dark Alliance preview version installed.


BugFixes

- Allstats and All Resistance is now correctly displayed on items.
- Druid skill: All skills that use Wind's Favor as synergy is now correctly applied.
- Start Town is no longer adding a green tileset instead of part of fence.
- Nandros (NPC). The Beast Within quest complete speech is no longer out of message box.
- Nandros (NPC). Is now correctly display the correct Razgar and introduction speech.
- Rhamar, the Darkeye (NPC). Is now correctly display the correct introduction speech.
- Character Screen: All skills with values over 100 is now correctly centered.
- Chipped skull is no longer flagged as unidentified when it's dropped from a jewebag.
- Nandro's Elixir (subquest reward) is now working.
- Added missing name for "Scroll of Summoning Nak'thul'anar".
- Cain is no longer display "identify cost: 0" on items when trading with Cain.
- Book of Identify have got it's missing spell scroll description added.
- Book of Town Portal have got it's missing spell scroll description added.
- Corrected a display error on backbone where it displayed +mana as percent.
- Corrected repair cost that was set way higher then intended after completed the act quest.
It's now correctly reduce the repair cost and not raise it.
- Spellscroll: Demonic Weakness is now correctly using 15 mana is listen on spelldescription.
- Spellscroll: Contract from below is now correctly using 10 mana is listen on spelldescription.
- Corrected a bug in grouped stats display (all-stats, all-resistance) that prevented it to display correctly on items.
- Staff of Necropolis is now correctly flagged as subquest item.
- Staff of city of the dead is now correctly flagged as subquest item.
- Staff of bone yard is now correctly flagged as subquest item.
- Corrected a BaseId/NextInClass chain error for Blood Elf Archer.
- Corrected a bug with chipped emeralds that cause it to list same physical damage twice.
- Corrected a bug with Wind's Favor that cause it not to show up at trainer.
- Corrected a bug where Artic Blast could be bought without put any point into Wind's Favor.
- Corrected a bug where spellscrolls could be used below required level without any effect, just consume mana.
- Corrected a bug where Scroll of Summon Fallen didn't match the mana cost on client.
- Corrected a bug with Druid Air Elemental that made it possible to summon it at same time as rest of elementals.
- Additional Belt rows that been extended with Expansion Oil now correctly autostack on new rows.
- Cain is now correctly identify magic and rare items located inside cube.
- It's no longer possible to use Druid's Friendship ring at Vally of Cows.
- Corrected a bug where startitems wasn't on full durability from start.
- Minor Oil Potion of Defense is now correctly working on listed qualities.
- Fixed a vanilla D2 bug that cause thorns to not trigger on death events.
- Fixed a vanilla D2 bug that cause poison/open wound to not trigger on death events.
- Added missing special treasure class for Fallen (those that spawn inside houses in outdoor maps).

- Corrected duplicated skillID's in skills.txt.
- Corrected an stat assign error on the herb: Adds +30% increased chance to block over 1 minute.
- corrected an error in MonUmod.txt where Brute wasn't excluded from Ligtning monster ability.
- corrected an error in Emperor's Guardian gemword where res-all didn't get correctly applied.
- corrected several errors where bloodlust wasn't assigned correctly to unique items.
- corrected several errors where herb creation wasn't assigned correctly to unique items.
- corrected several errors where armor forge wasn't assigned correctly to unique items.
- corrected a bug with Monster crafted Dark Boots cuberecipe.
- Long term vendor/npc bug solved. Npc's are now correctly selling, giving a spellscroll with the right spell in it.
- Corrected a bug where GO rune didn't have a level requirement.
- Subquest: Demon Forge is no longer displaying the quest entry as unknown.
- Oil Potion of Defense is now correctly working on listed requirements.
- MythRander101's Testament Daedalus Blade is now correctly a 2h-sword.
- All items is now correctly equipped when hover over the hireling image.
- Beast claw is now correctly displayed as red for non assassins.
- Charstats: Chance to block is now displaying correctly the final block chance (Total Blocking = [(Blocking * (Dexterity - 15)) / (Character Level * 2)]).
- Spellbooks is now correctly display quantity in display.
- Spellscrolls is no longer consumed sometimes in bank instead of your inventory.
- No other unique item feature is now correctly working.
- Fixed a bug that could allow you on client side buy a skill above max, pay the legend cost (note: this wouldn't raise your skill above max, just make you drain your LP).
- all diamond type of gems now reduce the defense per hit instead of increase their defense.
- Druid: Luck Charm recipe: is now correctly working.
- Corrected a bug that cause druids double herb duration to only work when you intial created your character.
- GW rune is now corrently displaying increased walk/run speed.
- Druid: Bestial Resilence: is no longer buffing hireling or pets.
- Weapon Rack in the Misty Tomb (level 2) is now correctly working.
- Allies to players no longer try to drop body parts or loots when dying.


Balance Changes

- Shillelag (Druid skill) mana cost down from 6 to 5.
- Ice Dagger (Sorceress skill). Added 1-5 physical damage as base damage and reduced freeze length.
- Willpower: Base Health increased from 3 to 8 and mana increased from to 12.
Increased Health per level from 5 to 8 and mana increased per level from 8 to 12.
- Courage: Base Health increased from 10 to 20. Increased health per level from 15 to 20.
- Backbone: Based Health increased from 7 to 12 and mana increased from 3 to 8.
Increased health per level from 10 to 12. Increased mana per level from 5 to 8.
- Abyssal Blade (conjured item) got improved stats.
- Vendors is now limit at max 2500g for a sold item in first chapter.
- Vendors is now buy items for about 50% less than before. If act quest completed he buy for about 25% less than before.
- All monsters in first chapter been rebalanced.
- Human Skull is now give +1 Intelligence and +20 Mana while it's equipped.
- Spellscroll: Earth Blend - mana reduced from 10 to 8.
- Spellscroll: Earh Darts - mana reduced from 6 to 5. Damage increased from 5-14 to 10-20 and
additional damage increased from 10 to 50% to 1-100%. Is now require Level 5 to use.
- Spellscroll: Flame Weapon - mana reduced from 20 to 10. Fire Damage changed from 20-30 to 10-40.
Your life drain is reduced from 10% to 1%. Duration changes from 2-5 minutes to 5 minutes. Is now require level 10 to use.
- Spellscroll: Create Magical Enhanced Food - mana reduced from 40 to 15. Is now require level 15 to use.
- Spellscroll: Plant Talk - mana reduced from 60 to 20. Then you speak with the nature spirit he will add a temporal wisdom and luck buff. Is now require level 20 to use.
- Spellscroll: Assuring Touch - mana reduced from 30 to 15. Duration increased from 1 minute to 5 minutes.
- Spellscroll: Best Face - mana reduced from 40 to 20. Duration reduced from 5 minutes to 2 minutes. Is now require level 5 to use.
- Spellscroll: Distorted Light - mana reduced from 40 to 20. New effect added as additional effect, Party gain +5% mana regeneration. Is now require level 10 to use.
- Spellscroll: Unseen Voices - mana reduced from 20 to 10. Chance to reduce attackers chance to hit increased
from -20% to -30%. Is no require level 15 to use.
- Spellscroll: Empereal Bolt - mana reduced from 25 to 10. Damage increased from 5-15 to 10-50. Is now require level 20 to use.
- Spellscroll: Bone Dance - mana reduced from 15 to 10. Duration increased from 30 sec to 5 minutes.
- Spellscroll: Raise Zombie - mana reduced from 30 to 15. Health got significant buffed and is now loosing life at slower rate.
- Spellscroll: Command Nightflyer - mana reduced from 30 to 20. Nightflyer pet rebalanced to a level 10 pet. Is now require level 10 to use.
- Spellscroll: Spirit Grip - mana reduced from 60 to 30. Cold damage increased from 3-12 to 15-40. Is now require level 20 to use.
- Spellscroll: Crushing Will - mana reduced from 15 to 10. Min magic damage change from intelligence / 2 to intelligence and
max damage changed from intelligence to intelligence * 2.
- Spellscroll: Iron Hand - mana reduced from 30 to 20. Damage buff increased from 3-10 to 5-20. Duration increased
from 1 minute to 5 minutes. Is now require level 15 to use.
- Spellscroll: Flame Flash - mana reduced from 25 to 10. Damage increased from 10-30 to 10-40 and
fire damage increased from 3-6 to 4-15. Is now require level 20 to use.
- Spellscroll: Demonic Strength - mana reduced from 20 to 10. Strength reduced from 30 to 10.
Duration increased from 2 to 5 minutes.
- Spellscroll: Demonic Weakness - Duration increased from 25 sec to 1 minute. Is now require level 5 to use.
- Spellscroll: Summon Fallen - mana reduced from 35 to 20. The summoned fallens rebalanced to level 10 fallen. Is now require level 10 to use.
- Spellscroll: Contract from below - Max health gain reduced from 35% to 25% and max mana reduced from -70% to -50%. Duration increased from 2 to 5 minutes. Is now require level 15 to use.
- Spellscroll: Abyssal Blade - mana reduced from 50 to 30. The item is now correctly flagged as a conjured item and have a conjure timer on it to stay for limited of time. The conjured item have got it's stats updated and can only be used by the player who conjured it. Is now require level 20 to both use the spellscroll and abyssal Blade.
- Druid start herb is no longer sellable to a vendor.
- Paladin: Holy Bolt base damage increased from 1-6 to 2.12.
- Sorceress: Magic Missile movement speed on missile increased.
- Minion's Health down from +200% to +150%.
- Champion's Health down from +300% to +250%.
- Unique's Health down from +600% to +400%.
- Champion's Hit down from +75% to +50%.
- Champion's Dmg down from +100% to +75%.
- Minion's Hit down from +50% to +25%.
- Unique's Hit down from +100% to +75%.
- Minion's Dmg down from +75% to +50%.
- Unique's Dmg down from +150% to +100%.
- Paladin: Holy Grenade mana cost reduced from 4 to 3 and damage increased from 6-12 to 10-20.
- Paladin: Might - Radius per level reduced from +2 to +1. Damage reduced from +25% to +15% and damage per level reduced from +25% to +10%.
- Paladin: Holy Light - Reduce the armor Class up from -2 to -4 and reduce the max health up from -1 to -2 and mana cost reduced from 5 to 4. Duration reduces from 30 to 20 sec.
- Paladin: Resist Fire down from 10 to 6 mana.
- Druid: Druidic Blood - Damage absorbed up from 10 to 20 and damage per level absorb up from 5 to 10. Mana cost reduced from 12 to 8.
- Druid: Raven damage up from 2-4 to 4-8 and hits up from 12 to 20 and mana cost up from 5 to 6.
- Druid: Poison Creeper damage up from 4-6 to 6-12. Health bonus per level increased from 30% to 40%.
- Druid: Cat's Paw mana cost down from 12 to 8.
- Druid: Forest Burn. Damage up from 1-5 to 2-10.
- Druid: Stone Armor mana cost down from 10 to 8.
- Sorceress: Familiar - damage taken goes to familar owner down from 20% to 10%. Mana cost reduced from 20 to 15.
- Akara's Identify Low level unique scroll is now permanent store and price lowered from 2500 to 1000.
- Akara's Identify Low level set scroll is now permanent store and price lowered from 2500 to 1000.
- Scroll of Identify Unique is now permanent store and price lowered from 5000 to 2500.
- Scroll of Identify Set is now permanent store and price lowered from 4000 to 2500.
- Most of spellscrolls been rebalanced for the new rank system.
- Amulet of the Wolf (unique amulet) is now require level 17 to use and is no longer dropping from low level mobs.
- Akara's Unique Identify scroll can now identify +2 higher iLvl than before.
- Akara's set Identify scroll can now identify +2 higher iLvl than before.
- Human Skull price down from 5000 to 500.
- Magical Stone price down from 5000 to 500.
- Set Identify book price lowered from 15000 to 5000.
- Set Identify scroll price lowered from 4000 to 2000.
- Unique Identify book price lowered from 20000 to 7500.
- Unique Identify scroll price lowered from 5000 to 2500.
- Akara's Unique Identify scroll price lowered from 1000 to 600.
- Akara's Set identify scroll price lowered from 1000 to 500.
- Doubled the chance of bodyparts drop in general.
- Increased droprate on globlin spleen, brain, eye.
- Goblins is spawned in larger groups in Blood Moor.
- Bone blade: level requirement down from Level 18 to 10. stats and reqirements tuned down to a L10 items.
- Boneguard Shield: level requirement down from Level 17 to 10. stats and reqirements tuned down to a L10 items.
- Stat requirements on skills removed.
- Legend Gain per level calculation changed.
- Legend Cost to buy stats calculation changed.
- Legend Cost to buy skills calculation changed.
- Main quest and sub quest rewards that reward legend points been change the amount to reflect this changes.
- Goatman Belt health reduced from 15-25 to 7-12.
- Werebear base duration up from 40 sec to 2 mins.
- werewolf base duration up from 40 sec to 2 mins.
- Werebear is now getting base +25% hit and +10% hit per level.
- Quill charm price lowered from 2000 to 1000.
- Lycantrophy have no longer a pre requirement.
- Lycantrophy base bonus duration lowered from 40 sec to 20 sec and per level duration lowered from 20 sec to 10 sec.
- Almor's Talisman (druid quest): make quest available from level 4.
- Chipped Amethyst: +1-2 dmg replaced with +10 to attack rating.
- chipped sapphire: +1-2 dmg replaced with +10 to attack rating.
- Chipped emerald: +1-2 dmg replaced with +10 to attack rating.
- chipped ruby: +1-2 dmg replaced with +10 to attack rating.
- Chipped diamond: +1-3 dmg replaced with +10% dmg vs: demon.
- Flawed diamond: +10% dmg vs: demon increased to +20% dmg vs: demon.
- chipped topaz: +1-2 dmg replaced with +10 to attack rating.
- Sorceress: Warmth base mana recovery lowered from 30% to 15% and per level 12% to 10%.


Graphics changes

- Setitem: Cleglaw's Claw: is now correctly using 2x2 size.
- Barbaric Light Plate have got it's missing inventory graphic corrected.
- New inventory graphic for set identify scroll.
- New inventory graphic for unique identify scroll.
- New inventory graphic for elemental spellscrolls.
- New inventory graphic for illusion spellscrolls.
- New inventory graphic for illusion spellbooks.
- New inventory graphic for Necromancy spellscrolls.
- New inventory graphic for Necromancy spellbooks.
- New inventory graphic for Wizard spellscrolls.
- New inventory graphic for Wizard spellbooks.
- New inventory graphic for Demonic Art spellscrolls.

- Following have got it's soul graphics updated:

Spelling Issues

- Unique Carver skin: Rakanishus Templar got it's name corrected.
- Keys display is now displaying "never lose this key" instead of "Never loose this key".
- Page 32, Upgrade Health Potion: "You have found the clue about the how to upgrade health potions" changed to "You have found a clue about how to upgrade health potions.


Improvements

Misc:

- New treasure class system is implemented for monsters, objects, subquest rewards and mainquest rewards.
- New global treasure class system implemented for monsters.
- Gems is now displaying Allstats, All Resistance, +% to max damage based on Strength to display correctly.
- Improved Debug and error trapping code. Any errors is now listed in da.log.
- New rage core feature implemented for Barbarian. This include new way to pay for use skill (rage). New rage bubble that replace
existing mana bubble. New rage decay system (non used rage decay over time).
- Mana and Health potions are now displaying a message then you try to drink and already on full mana/health.
- Individual Cooldown on Potions implemented.
- Conjured Item code implemented.
- New spellscroll Experience Death added in Necromancy School.
- Tome of Town Portal got renamed to Book of Town Portal for consistency.
- Tome of Identify got renamed to Book of Idenitify for consistency.
- Transparency on Health bar changed from 25% to 50% on monsters.
- Paladin: Cleansing skill: Heal synergy bonus removed. The current code for the skill isn't allowing a permanent health added and as skills will get a major rework in pre-alpha the code to allow this will have to wait for future.
- Luck Charm (druid class charm): Stats been replaced with +6% Luck, +25 to Health and +24 to Mana.
- New Unique Rings added (that uses the new modifiers).
- Several new suffixes added (that uses the new modifiers).
- Gamble List rewritten to only have a list of available items from first chapter.
- New stats added:
Increased chance to find gems,
Increased chance to find spellscrolls,
Increased chance to find runes,
Increased chance to find jewels,
Increased chance to find unique items,
Increased chance to find set items,
Increased chance to find rare items,
Increased chance to find magic items,
Increased Luck,
Increased Knowledge.
- Spellscrolls is now always display the skill icon in red if you below required level.
- Added missing spelldescription to Druid Block Herb and Health regeneration Herb
- Most class specific drops that belongs to classes not implemented yet is no longer dropping.
- Implemented code for save states between games.
- New Death Penalty implemented: -25% Experience Gain for next 5 minutes.
- Revitalizing Potion (removes death penalty) added.
- Druid: Forest Burn is now giving experince points if burn damage cause the kill.
- Paladin: Fire Bomb is now giving experince points if burn damage cause the kill.
- Open Wound stat have got new functionality and code rewritte from scratch.
- All skeletons is immune to Open Wound and Bleed Damage.
- All weapons have got min/max bleed stats assigned.
- Rusty Amulet (monster item) replaced Open Wound stat with +1-3 Magic Damage.
- Black Amulet (monster item) replaced Open Wound stat with +1 to Dexterity.
- Gaea's Touch (unique ring) removed Open Wound stat. Health gain per kill raised to +18 Health.
- Cold-Blooded Ring (unique ring) removed open wound stat. +health raised to +73 Health.
- New Affix: Of Open Wounds is now possible to spawn on magic & rare weapons.
- Gheed is now always selling arrows and bolts.
- Paladin: Barbed Bolt skill have been recoded from scratch. It's now giving a bleed damage dot for 12 sec and aswell have a 10% chance to give a temporal buff for 10 sec that gives chance for pierce and increase weapon speed. Bleed part of skill do no effect on skeletons and similar types that is immune to bleed damage.
- Implemented a new spellscroll rank system. Scrolls can now be learned on use another rank up to max rank 10.
- Implemented a new dynamic description for spellscrolls.
- For each unique item that is equipped modifiers is no longer spawnable on items. It's disabled until feature get coded correctly.
- Improved the legend system in several ways.
Implemented a new baseStatCost.txt file. This to allow control the cost better.
- Character classes now have a primary, secondary and other stats. Primary stat cost half normal cost, and other stat cost * 1.5 normal cost.
- Implemented a new version check for Dark Alliance characters. This will allow to restrict new changes to that patch.
- Characters older than 0.04.08.06.07 wont be compatible with this patch. You will be able to load and play with them. But, wont be able to buy stats and skills due to change of legend point gain, and spend.
- Cain is no longer speak about identify with no charge. The text have been updated and the sound for the speech is now disabled.
- Negative cast rate is now worded -x% slower cast rate.
- A fallen type (pack with fallen Shamans) is now able to drop from a special treasureclass.
- A fallen type (pack with fallen Shamans) is now able to drop a bodypart.
- A yeti type is now able to drop from a special treasureclass.
- A yeti type is now able to drop a bodypart.
- dark ranger (Elite) is now able to drop from a special treasureclass.


Items
- Kashya's Leader (Set Item): +3 to Wolf have been replaced with +3 to Leopard.
- Storm Wind (Unique Item): +1 to Twister have been replaced with +1 to Tornado.
- Sun Tormenter (Unique Item): +2 to firebolt have been replaced with +2 to Fireball.
- Twisted Protector (Unique Item): Is now correctly using +3 to magic armor as intended.
- Set item: Cleglaw's Claw is now correctly using small shield as base item instead of large shield.
- Red Sun (unique pool buckler): +2 Firebolt been replaced with +2 fingers of Fire.

due to a constant lack of time I couldn't really play your mod, but I was wondering if this:

is not gamebreaking?!

reason is that afaik "burn" can not be negated as well as not resisted, thereby making a skill that can kill everything in the game might be a litttle over the top?!

reason is that afaik "burn" can not be negated as well as not resisted, thereby making a skill that can kill everything in the game might be a litttle over the top?!
Fire resistance reduce the amount of damage you take from burn. Not sure however if it's in the public version yet or not. So, it's not more game breaking than bleed / poison is :)

This is an excellent mod. I've had the first public release when it came out. I've been starving for the 2nd act. Hope we get a public release soon with the Barbarian and Necromancer soon. Also any chances of some more waypoints being added in since there is so much ground to cover after Andy's dead? You guys are like the all-stars of D2 mods. Keep up the good work!

Second chapter will saddly take it's time. There is alot work still need to finish before second chapter is ready to hand out for public. There is a slight chance waypoint system get an overhaul completely. Have some ideas of improvements to it. But, not sure if that will be in for next public release or not.

This happends when mod isn't correct installed.

I suppose you use plugY 9.0? DA using a very old version due to some compability issue with newer versions.

What you can do is add the following to plugy.ini to this row "DllToLoad"

should look like this: DllToLoad=D2DarkAlliance.dll

Also if you are using own shortcut to start it and not the LaunchDarkAlliance.vbs you need remember to not add -txt to the shortcut (line should look like -direct -w (if you play in window mode) othervise just -direct is enough)

Well, I had ultimate fixer mod installed and then I removed it - using removerize.bat.

I installed DA in the correct directory.

I'm not using plugY.

I ran it using the .vbs launcher.

Does it need the original game launcher?* (ultimate fixer mod worked fine with it)

*I've been using a no-cd ".exe" just for 1.10.

I will leave it here. Others may have similar issue as you and get a hint to solve it.

I'm not sure when the patch with barbarian (and alot of other changes include chapter 2) is released to public. It will take it's time before everything is ready for public.

EDIT:

2012-09-12 Uploaded the Dark Alliance patch for preview version to a new host. let me know if download isn't working as it should and I will look into it.
