Due to the ability to teleport in town, in act 2 you can teleport past the guards and get the the Arcane Sanctuary and Canyon of Magi before doing the necessary quests.

The only way to fix that is by limiting teleport in town. Many players do not like that. I do not mind if teleport is not allowed in town since I like my characters to walk and not run around.

Thanks again for PMing me on this issue and putting it here as well, stingray. But, you know....now that I think about it....is it really something that needs to be fixed? You can't open Duriel's cave without the Staff, so you have to complete those Quests anyway.

I forgot about that actually, hmm, I remember there being a glitch in Duriel's Chamber that allowed you to teleport past the wall if you did it correctly and thus skip Duriel. I assume this was fixed?

If there was a recipe to create quest items than you do not need to complete the quests.

Median has a recipe the likes of that i believe, i wouldn't mind seeing the same in ES. After completing the game what, a hundred times doing a low estimate, i don't find it very amusing to do Act 2 and Act 3 running back and forth quests.

Okay, I think I found a problem with the Merc sets. If you equip the item and go to a healer you will restore to full health ( Though next time you enter a game you will go back to one ) and you can use the advantages. To check I used the Act 3 Merc kite shield which has attacker takes damage of ?? and sat around in an area, and sure enough the monster died and I was still alive. Although do ATD mods take effect before the damage? That could explain it. This was actually something I discovered long ago but I was too lazy to report it.

Tsuru made it that your Vitality is in the negative values (1 life since that is the minimum value you can drop without taking a hit). Mercs do not use Energy or Vitality and the sets were designed for them.

Hi all, I've been playing ES on a Mac - 10.5.8 with LoD 1.10 and am having a terrible time getting anywhere in Act 5. The boss pack around Anya crashes me when I kill them - so I ran around them. I went to kill Pindle and he crashed me when I killed him. Also, a boss pack in the Fake Note Factory crashed me upon their death. Is this common among Mac users? I know the Mac version is unstable, but this is close to unplayable. I also crash upon S&E every time now.

I previously was using 1.12 until I got up to the portal to A5 and crashed (because I needed 1.10,) so I reverted and am now having this problem. With 1.12, I had no problems S&E or killing boss packs.

Oh, and my 1.10 install was completely clean (I just re-installed about 2 hours ago.)

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: Poppy Farm is a no go - can't kill ancients. Crash city.

The R6 series of patches causes crashes on the Mac OS. If you can dual boot into windows ES will work fine.

Hey guys,

I've been playing with friends and this bug may have been mentioned before, but digging through 74 pages isn't ideal and the search function on this forum is junk.

I'm not sure if this is already a known issue, but when playing with my two friends when we leave town and start fighting things recently the game will freeze up for one of them. The same one. My other friend and I can continue playing until we save and exit just fine.

I think this may be the 27 states bug, but I'm unsure. And while we will be testing that out shortly, I was wondering if there were any alternative answers.

We're all using windows vista, es r6d, and the same version of hamachi.

None of our character sizes are over 7 kb and we have been using shared stashes that are no larger than 65 kb.

Any help would be appreciated.

Use the stash switcher command to switch the stash. Since stashes are known to cause issue with PlugY and multiplayer.

It may be the 27 passive states bug that you are experiencing.

I've never bothered with the stash switcher. Simply copy and paste them around.

I keep trying to reinstall Diablo 2 and ES, but no matter what I try, the skill quests are giving the wrong skills. Akara's quest and the Book of Skill only give 1 skill point, and Tyrael only gives 2. What is going on? I'm using the correct R6D patch... Is it some sort of glitch with Game.exe? Because when I reinstall it asks me if I want to overwrite Game.exe and I hit yes.

Nothing in the sticky helps at all, and I feel like it's not an issue with Game.exe either after messing around a bit.

Did you install diablo in a different directory than the default. The installer likes to pick that as the default. You would need to point that to the correct directory.

When launching the mod you will see an Eastern Sun Game Screen

No, I've had Eastern Sun in the default directory for a long time, and had R6D working just fine before.

I uninstalled it to reinstall to a new directory to mess with other stuff, and then reinstalled ES to the same default directory a few times now. I've clean reinstalled Diablo 2 to the default directory twice and patched it to 1.12, and I keep trying different things with copying and pasting backup files and running a lvl 1 char through the first quest, but no matter what, I only get 1 skill point from the first quest.

And yes I'm using this installer: http://miyoshino.la.coocan.jp/files/es300_R6D_full.zip

EDIT: Reinstalled to a fully clean third D2 directory and now it's fixed. Whatever file wasn't working correctly must have been part of the ES install.

So I found something weird while gem melding a little while ago.

If you take a helm or pair of boots and gem meld it with something until it gets to it's cap, any further gem melding will add the Armor/Shield/Boots properties for gem melding.

For example:

Sapphire Gem Melding - Helms/Boots

+10 Mana
+2% FCR
+1% Max Mana

When these properties all reach their caps you can then gem meld with Sapphires even more to get Cold resist and +x Cold Absorb.

Another thing is if you D-stone a normal item with sockets with some property until it reaches it's cap and then add in a runeword or gemword, you can d-stone that property again and double the cap (only for certain things though. For you perfectionists who want crazy high damage, yes you can get up to +1800% EDam on your weapons and should be able to on your gloves as well).

Wasn't sure if you guys were aware of this already or not. I found out the double d-stoning thing in game and then tested what else I could find out with a read only character and found the Gem Meld xover.

So much for an eth dualmax being the highest damage output. Too bad after going through all that work to get an eth dualmax Katana :D

I wonder if the first one will also aply the gem-melding of the glove after the shield one is done.

wait im confused here. would this work, (has to do with something that was said 2 posts up)

if i took a 5 socket eth hellfire sword, could i dstone it until whenever (whatever my chars level is) then put in the LOD "death" runeword and it would work?

what about making the death runeword then afterwards dstoning it?

Yes as long as you can equip it since the character level can be higher than 100.

Runewords in D2 uses a second storing method for the caps on an item.

Take an example a weapon. The cap for enhanced damage in ES is 900%.

You would d-stone to 900% enhanced damage and then make the runeword and then you can add up to 900% enhanced damaged( that includes the enhanced damage that the runeword adds if any)

Remember any d-stoning/gem-melding done to an item while it is a runeword/gemword will be lost if the item is desocketted.
