Re parsing old bbcodes

Post by Volf » Sun Feb 18, 2018 1:20 pm

We have allot of old broken bbcodes in forum posts dating back years. Atm im running a reparse script that fixes a batch of them, as a side effect reparsed posts will show up under new posts.

Good job Volf!

Do you have any plans to fix old links that point to, for example, .it-point, gamespy, hugelaser, etc?
Although done for our needs, mod-makers should like these changes, too.

Fixed more than 20k dead links already and will continue fixing them as i discover new ones. Remaining ones are stored in various formats so normal regex searches etc wont do it anymore. Also allot of the it-point etc links that were fixed still display as it-point even though the link is fixed as past systems handled links differently.
At this point i just rely on a crawler to catch the remaining ones.

Not sure if this is the right place to post dead links, but here I'll post.

You could make a topic in feedback forum so that they are all in the same spot. For the remaining ones that need manual editing i usually wait until crawlers have picket up + 500 of them
