I just used the organs in a cube recipe and now I can't make the damn flail to break the orb. Am I just dumb or is there another way to get the flail instead of having to go back and get them again! :OI:

There are clues as to a recipe to create the Flail without using the organs.

Ormus I think hints at it. Some other NPC clarifies (though I forget who).

But yes, there is a way to make the flail still...the recipe might be in the stickied Spoiler thread on Cube recipes in this forum, though I'm not sure.

i cant seem to find who clarifies... i talked to everyone, and cain is the only other who mentions it... but he doesnt give any hints.

edit:though, now I realize you can just go get the parts again...so no biggie

Well, actually, if you purchase a certain item with Khalim's name on it and open it up, you'll get the complete recipe ;) But if you're interested in the clues from the NPCs...

Ormus:

You now speak to Ormus.

He was once a great mage, but now
lives like a rat in a sinking vessel. You
have questions for Ormus and doubt in
yourself. Ormus sees a strange
dichotomy in you... as he does in all
would-be heroes.

Speak to him and he may grant you
wisdom in turn. Or turn from him and
seek wisdom in thyself.

(Mutters to you) Know this:
Ormus feels Cain is a wise old man.
His brain is older than his body, and
sometimes more limp. He talks to
Ormus of Khalim's weapon and
Khalim's remains. They don't need
to go together. His thoughts on
the use of Khalim's organs are
wasteful. There is another way
to make the weapon he will speak
to you about. Speak with me later
and I shall tell you more. Ormus
rests now.

Cain:

You have found Khalim's Heart, and it
still bears the courage to face
Mephisto!

Place it in the Horadric Cube along with
Khalim's other relics - the Eye, the
Brain, and the Flail.

(Mumbles) Hmmmm...or was there
another way to make Khalim's Will?
Oh well, no matter...you probably
don't want to use the organs for their
other uses anyway...(falls asleep)

Cain:

Ahh... Khalim's Eye! Only it can reveal
the true path to Mephisto.

Place the Eye in the Horadric Cube
along with Khalim's other relics - the
Heart, the Brain, and the Flail.

(Mumbles) Didn't Ormus tell me about
another way to make Khalim's Will?
Oh well, maybe you wouldn't like the
other items those organs can turn
into anyway...(starts telling a story
that you promptly ignore)

Cain:

This is most fortunate! Khalim's Brain
knows Mephisto's weakness.

Place it in the Horadric Cube along with
Khalim's other relics - the Eye, the
Heart, and the Flail.

(Mumbles) I wish I could remember
the other way to make Khalim's Will.
Must talk to Ormus about that one
day. Well, you can probably survive
without learning the alternate uses
for Khalim's remains...

Ormus:

You have done well, noble hero. Ormus
congratulates you. The old spirits of
Skatsim will watch over you for
returning their sacred blade.

Now, after all these years, Ormus will
once again use his powers to protect
the innocent from the shadow. The
spell that protects the dockside shall
now be reinforced.

(Whispers) Ormus shall say what he
did not before: Khalim's Will, which
you will need should you live long
enough, can be made by adding the
right number of items to a Cube
alongside Khalim's flail. The items
are jewel, rune, captured soul and
gem. How much of each you
need and other details Ormus
knows not. You must learn that
wisdom yourself. The organs of
Khalim can be made into better
things if you find out how.

Asheara:

The Children of Zakarum who guard the
Tower square can be killed, but their
numbers are vast. You must destroy
their Council.

(Whisper in your ear) You know, I
know things others sometimes do
not. I'm fickle with information. But
I will say this: As you weigh advice
from mysterious Ormus about Khalim,
remember that things need not be
the same, but some "perfection"
will be required in what you do.

Underneath the name of the item is the clue/action you must undertake (in parenthesis). Think about it. How would you normally go about carrying out the action called for in that "clue"? That will tell you what item to combine with it in the cube.

I'm really stuck on this one, so I'm going to ask here, but this is a big spoiler, so stop reading if you still want to figure this out yourself.

Ok, SO I did what the scroll said and combined the Flail with 3 jewels, 3 runes, 3 captured souls and a perfect gem and nothing happened. Since then I have tried using three of the same rune, 3 blue jewels and a blue perfect gem, all different colors of everything, 3 different runes, and I'm just not getting anywhere. What gives? Do I need to close one eye? or combine as I'm just a hair from dying? or do I need to use the eye, brain, and heart in their respective recipies first before I can do this? I've been trying combinations for several days now, and I just seem to be stuck.

what kind of gem did you use?
remember that perfect moonstones(the blue ones) don't look like "Classic" Diablo. the ones that look like perfect are in fact flawless ones...
By the way, don't bother with colors and rune names, only the good number count.

Also, just to be on the safe side, let me ask this:

Did you use Khalim's flail in the recipe, or some other kind of flail? It only works with Khalim's flail.

Bah, just my luck, I used a blue one. I've actually been gathering pieces to see if I could upgrade it again, just didn't have quite enough yet. I will continue on in my efforts. But yes, I was using Khalim's flail. Thanks

Quick tip:

- Gems that can be upgraded say "upgradeable" under their name.

- Gems that are at the highest level say "perfect" under their name.

Unless something changed without my noticing in the last few versions of the mod. ;0

No, you are remembering correctly, I gathered enough to upgrade again, and it did say perfect instead of upgradeable. Hadn't noticed that before. Anyway, it worked right off the bat once I had the P. Gem. Thanks
