No LotH will only work with v1.10(final.)
It is unlikely that it will ever be ported to any other version (LotH uses several code edit plugins which are version specific.)
As far as your specific error, the way to resolve it is to use v1.10. It is possible to set up you system to run multiple versions of D2 at the same time. The 'keep file center has some programs to automate this process somewhat. The FAQ post in this forum links to the section containing these files, as well as the necessary dlls and what-not for v1.10. (look near the bottom of that post in the "Technical Problems" section.)
