1.1x TCEX.txt guide has missing content

Post by mmpx222 » Sun Dec 23, 2018 2:07 pm

The TreasureClassEx.txt guide by Nefarius is missing part of the contents from the original forum post. Specifically, this section has been deleted:

Unique, Set, Rare, Magic – This is used to manipulate and fine-tune the drop ratio of items of the respective quality. Listing the whole “quality” calculation here is not necessary as this has been covered in many places, just know that the way this column works is:

chance * (1 – treasureclass-manipulator / 1024)

Thus a value of 1024 exactly will cause the game to always drop items of this quality (if chance <= 128 the drops will always be of that quality).

Examples:

100000 * (1 – 1024 / 1024) = 100% (0)
100000 * (1 – 768 / 1024) = 0.5% (25000)
100000 * (1 – 256 / 1024) = 0.2% (75000)

I believe it should be clear now how this works.
Also, while not a part of the original guide, this addendum would be incredibly helpful:

Note3: make sure the new treasureclasses are on a row before andariels treasureclass in the txt file, (they have to before the treasureclass)
Or, in more formal terms:
If a treasureclass A has treasureclass B as one of its possible drops, the row for A must be below (after) B.

I have passed this on to the Mods in charge of updating the fileguides; Thank you for pointing this out!
