hey, i'm new with this tfw mod, and i didn't figured out some thing, can someone answer some questions 4 me plz?? here they are:
-what do u use mercury pot and the flaked oil for
-what are the normal chests for
-the heartstones, coz i got 9 cahmpion, and 1 leader???
-is there a way to add some sockets to a non-socketed unique weapon

Well the first thing i can suggest is to check out the readme file. This will answer all of your questions. If you read it and still dont comprehend then reask the necessary questions.

ooo i got some of em, but here are some more:
-why maps keep dissapearing(i mean after i save a game, and go back in, the map that i just searched thru, has nothin marked, like i didn't even go there)
-is the "4% mana stolen per hit" good or bad???
-what are the rocks used for
-what's knockback??

Maps are reset every time cuz that is how they are set in TFWA.
Can be good if you use mana alot...
which rocks
knockback is just that, when you hit a monster, it knocks it back, hasnt changed since vanilla D2

There are a couple of cube recipes that use rocks. There probably should be more, so I'll do something about it. To begin with, in patch a2p8 there will be gem-busting recipes (and maybe you'll find out why, muwahahahahaha) where you take a gem of a certain grade, cube it with a rock, and get your next lower grade pieces back.

Thank goodness for PugY and thank goodness I kept all those rocks :) .

Are there any "secret" recipes in the mod that aren't in the documentation which need to be discovered? If there are I don't want to know what they are but will spend some time trying to figure them out (which can be a lot of fun in itself) .

If there are any recipes in the game which aren't in the documentation, that is only by accident (not counting testing recipes which better be disabled by the time they get out to all y'all).

Which isn't to say I might not make secret recipes in the future! Or I may implement Books of Lore at some point...

and you are only 25 years young according to your profile. Man it has taken me 4000 years to get to the same stage and forget everything I ever learned :mrgreen: .

Unless you hand around here or other modding forums, some of the jargon might be bizarre. Vanilla was slang that came from "plain vanilla" which is idiomatic to begin with, in this context it means what Blizzard gives you with the game and nothing else. Readme files in Vanilla do not have all the recipes. And the readme file that comes in the TFW patches from a2p3 on is much more coherent than the original readme.

tried nearly everything that comes to my mind but i still get this error mesage:

Assertion Failure

any ideas?

i tried it with a clean d2 1.10 install, with a clean d2 1.11
i made a subfolder called tfw, changed the d2cmdline entry as described in the readme, 110game.exe to game.exe

(with plugy7.x it starts and works but i get only 1 skillpoint per lvlup and i know of course i shouldnt experiment and all that :cool: )

so i hope this d2win error is known and any1 can help me

edit: i have the 4x mb awakening_a2 file and the a2p7 patch - did i missed anything perhaps?

If running PlugY 7.01 you will have problems unless you are able to remove the hardcoded version from the mod and replace it with 7.01. I am sorry I can't show you how to do this as it would upset Myhrginoc and is considered cheating. Your best course of action would be to use the mod "as is" with the hardcoded PlugY 5.06. If you still have the same problem then let us know but you won't get support if you don't use the mod as packaged by Myhrginoc and co.

If using either 1.10 or 1.11x you must have the correct version of game.exe. If you had the 1.10 version and just changed the name that might be the source of your problem and vice-versa. What you should have is two versions of game.exe, one for 1.10 and one for 1.11x. Call them anything you like (fred10.exe and fred11.exe will do ;) ) but make sure, when using the different patched files you reference the correct .exe in D2CmdLine e.g. 1.10 files installed and 1.10 .exe is called fred10.exe then D2CmdLine should read :

"D2CmdLine = chr(34) & D2Path & "fred10.exe" & chr(34) & "-direct -mod tfw".

For 1.11x files installed and 1.11x.exe is called fred.11.exe then D2CmdLine should read :

"D2CmdLine = chr(34) & D2Path & "fred11.exe" & chr(34) & "-direct -mod tfw".

i have 3 hd's in my pc with more then a half terabyte space^^
so i have a clean d2 1.09b, a clean d2 1.10 and a clean d2 1.11 installation copied, all with full and complete files^^

and if i play a mod i copy the needed clean install in a new folder and then i add the mod files
so it can not happen that anything gets corrupted, is wrong or sumtin

and i tried awakening with the 1.10 version and with the 1.11 version, both in different folders and both with a new and clean awakening unzip ---> same d2win error

and i'm sure i copied always the right version to my copy-folder back in the days as i installed a clean d2

has to be sumtin else ...
