how to I get to act4?

I cant seem to enter act4 even after I killed Lazarus

the gate in that level wont seem to open for me.. and the last quest was still incomplete afterI defeat Lazarus

EDIT: also sometimes when I meet Lazarus my diablo2 would crash just as he starts to give the speech.
This has happened twice already.

Sometimes I could kill him alright but after that I dont see anyway to get to act4 also the sixth quest was still there.

Most of time my Diablo2 screen just freeze up.. as I press exist the program shuts down automaticly
I didnt really see any error sign.
as soon as I heard him talking the freeze up thing "might "happen

I tried to fight him for over 4 times.. freeze up happened twice.

There is an error, you just didn't see it. Go to the Diablo II folder and open the file named D2YYMMDD.txt, where YY is the year, MM is the month and DD is the day you played. The error message should be in there.

Edit: I tried 3 more times with Lazarus. no more crashes at this time but no even though I cleared out all the monsters in the level... the bridge to the red gate still won;t come up. and the quest log still tells me to kill Lazarus...( I am pretty sure he was killed > <)
Not too sure what exactly happened, if the red gate is the only way to act4 then I probabaly cant make it to there
Maybe it;s something wrong with my character?
If not then I only can wait til the next release to see act4 > <.

It's not that. We're looking for an Assertion Error... Try searching in the file and then post the error including the Expression line here.

Of course, the same old error that I thought that I fixed...

By the way, did Lazarus drop the Staff of Lazarus after you killed him?

Ok, a temporary solution that I can think of is to give me your character and I'll enable Act 4 for you. I'll also use it to test and try to beat the bug. You know my e-mail address.
