Someone (Constance) complained here about problems with D2ModSetup under Win98.
As I don't know what rundll32 is supposed to do, I can't do more than reporting here...

I've tried to install this following the procedure for those who didn't have D2mod installed yet, described in the first message.
After installing D2Mod with the D2ModSetup.bat, I got my first problem :As I had a message saying it was installed successfully before this, I just went on and extracted the v 0.01 beta files to a "shadow" sub-directory, then ran the LaunchMod.vbs script ... and got this :Code: Select all

I'm running Windows 98 first edition with Internet Explorer 5.0 (guess this must be have some kind of link with the version of what executes the VBS script ? ) ... please, help :'(
Edit : same thing running RecoverFromCrash.vbs , error line 19.
I also had a look at the CleanUp.bat script : it uses like a constant Diablo II path... which is not even the default one

Re: D2Mod install under Win98
I have in past told SVR that this could be an issue. I know there is a problem in get path from "shortcut" in some win98 + gfxcards. A friend had this issue in my mod and we changed the way we loaded the custom DLL.
The path has nothing to do with d2mod. It doesn't use any.
The Rundll Error message is known. Win98 uses a different prototype for the dllentry point so the return stack is not adjusted correctly.
The install completes correctly then rundll abnormally exits. It isn't a problem.
Though I can't read french, it appears there's an error in the script.
You probably have to edit the script to tell it where your d2 is installed.
