Any changes in plugyfixed.ini that would prevent me from trying this version with existing mods?
Oh, and the forum url in the readme (the english one at least) is wrong, it's the old it-point one.

But it's sure I have fixed one (a stupid one), now it works for me at low level in Median 2008. reviously I lost my skills points, isn't more the case...
Can you tell on which mod you try it (with LoD version) ?

Welcome back Yohann and thanks for the new PlugY. I will download it and try it for some MPQ only mods.
Yohann you may want to contact Contail. Who is working on a program similar to PlugY but is for the Mac.

Nefex unloads plugy to avoid people reporting crashes that are part of plugy, this is for the beta testing, so this is nothing to do with plugy. Welcome back Yohann, good to see a new release, is it now more mp friendly?

For Multiplayer, now it will work better even if it still bugged.Welcome back Yohann, good to see a new release, is it now more mp friendly?
I have just tell PlugY to use the old saving procedure (with unendified items bugs) if an error happend and do a backup of savefiles before.
But I haven't really tested it, I wait for feedback...
I haven't tested that, it seem to be complex. Perhaps I can't find a way to revert it back.Median 2008 too . But it happens when there is max level linked between skills (some skills raise other's max levels, when I put points in both of them it usually happen) . There are some other occurence I don't remember.
The only things I have test it's the reset of skills points at low level.
In really, I don't really come back like before, because I have still few free time. (I'm maried and bought a house now...)
But I think I will do a 8.01 last version to fix some remaining bugs (if any ), and I will stop PlugY. But I will work on others good projects

I'm not familiar with CE, but perhaps you can add an option like : # of skill points return always equal sum of all base skill levels (instead of using skill point calculation in skills.txt, just return 1 level = 1 point) .I haven't tested that, it seem to be complex. Perhaps I can't find a way to revert it back.

But it's right I can add on option to choose it.
Perhaps if I will do, don't know.
But for my test, can you send me your character and tell me the version of Median 2008 are you using ? Thx.

Sorry, but I have a bad habit of deleting broken chars . And I'm not playing Median much lately.
[Edit]
Call it code of honor . Last time I accidently open a ME mod sorceress with normal D2, it broke half of my inventory and I decided to remove her despite her being the only char I'm playing.

Re: PlugY, The Survival Kit 8.00 !!!!!!
I can't see how this new idea has any advantage except to make skills much cheaper than the modmaker intends. Very few mods allow any skill acquisition at less cost than one point per skill level, and that only at introductory levels. Mods that impose higher, and usually variable, point costs would have to rely on other stat thresholds. Why not ask for player control of minimum level, strength, dexterity, vitality or energy requirements as well?instead of using skill point calculation in skills.txt, just return 1 level = 1 point
This is considerably different than allowing reassignment of existing skill points. Reassignment doesn't change the cost or requirements of any skill.
I am a modmaker who has developed such a point system. I would have to figure out how to break this feature, perhaps more severely than by the method Yohann already has provided.
Do the right thing. It will gratify some people and astonish the rest.

Re: PlugY, The Survival Kit 8.00 !!!!!!
I just downloaded plugy and it doesn't seem to work for me... I used the installer so the files should be in the right places.
If i run it from the desktop shortcut the game works but plugy doesn't seem to be doing anything. If i run it from Plugy.exe the game opens , but when I select my single player character I get an error and the game shuts down.. I am not running any other mods , diablo is installed in the normal directory..
Here is the error
"Diablo II Error"

Any chance of automatically disabling PlugY (more specifically the multipage stash) if the host in a TCP/IP game doesn't run it? That currently crashes the host, maybe some handshake would be possible?
On a related note, would it be possible to always store the first personal page in the d2s, instead of the currently active one? Would decrease the hassles with enabling/disabling the multipage stash. Hmm, would of course also imply to load the first personal from the d2s instead of the d2x...

Re: PlugY, The Survival Kit 8.00 !!!!!!
Bug report:
I have added a new start skill on BB, sure it was a passive skill.
But when I unassigned his skills, I got an extra skill point from that skill and it
disappeared at that time. Then I quit and enter again, I was surprised to find out that the passive skill I gave BB existed again! So I unassigned and quit and enter, I got more and more skill points through this step #_#
P: How to edit my own profile? I 'm new here, from Chinamods Forum ^_^

It is disabled and will stay disabled... Unless you have already done so, I suggest you provide a new option in the .ini, something like UnassignSkillsv8=0, which I can then set to 1 and enable skill respec FOR 8.00 (well, 8.01) ONLY.ebiwan" wrote:not really, as first, it seems that it still doesn´t work correct and second, it is disabled in Median by Laz.
Otherwise I'd help the few with 8.00 and give the many with 7.01 an easy way to break their character. Heh.

Re: PlugY, The Survival Kit 8.00 !!!!!!
First, I'd like to apologize if the resolution to this issue has been posted elsewhere - I did try to search for an answer, but it seems that most posts related to this plugin were for older versions of it, from fairly advanced users already familiar with mods and plugins, or for issues with getting multiple mods to play nice. Thus, my search wasn't nearly as helpful as I had hoped.
I'm fairly new to Diablo II, and even newer to the use of mods and plugins. I'm pretty good at following instructions, but being that I didn't find much in the way of instructions on how to enable the plugin (aside from the config file info), I don't know what I should do to resolve my issue. I assumed that just running the installation executable would do everything needed to get the mod up and running.
When I open Diablo II via PlugY.exe (which, by default, was located in the "Diablo II\Mod PlugY" directory), the game comes up as normal, but when I check my stash, as far as I can tell, there is no additional stash space to speak of. I checked my Skill Tree as well, and there's no indication that I can unassign skill points. I checked the config file (which was freshly installed, and at default settings), and everything appears to be correct according to the readme file. I thought there might be an issue with my character, so I created a new character, but am experiencing the same issue. I even tried copying the PlugY executable to the Diablo II folder, then starting D2 from there, and no luck. I checked the .ini files, but they all show that the plugin is enabled.
However, while I was browsing through the Diablo II folder for other config files, I found a file named "D2080116.txt" and inside seems to be a log that logs Diablo II's loading sequence.. or whatever you might call it. I found the following information that doesn't match up with other log entries from prior to installing PlugY:

Re: PlugY, The Survival Kit 8.00 !!!!!!
AHA! I poked around a little bit more and figured it out! I copied (not moved) the PlugY folder (located within the Mod PlugY folder) to the Diablo II folder, and used the PlugY.exe file located inside the Mod PlugY folder to open D2. I started the game up, loaded my character, and TADA! The mod appears to be working now. Sorry to have posted my problem without doing a little more troubleshooting. But hey, maybe this will help future newbs like me.
Perhaps Yohann should update the way the plugin is installed to the Diablo II directory, so that it automatically loads a copy of the PlugY folder to the Diablo II folder. *shrug* Just a suggestion.
Thanks anyhow,
Miss Geek

xMissGeekx, thanks !
What is your system ?
I think you don't have winXP, which will explain (partially) why I works for me and not you (PlugY folder not in D2 folder).
Brother Laz, you have right but your skills point in your mod seem to be special (with the uber skill) and I think you want people change their uber skill during game so...
Anyway, good news : I will do a version 8.01 but I still don't know what I will include in it.
