You're stuck with the 4x2 grid. I haven't softcoded that so far.

Thankyou. Were you able to move the string near the center? I noticed I only had a couple hundred pixels above the bottom edge or a couple hundred pixels below the top edge... shrugs.

Anyhow, I'm trying to edit the waypoint background.

I found the dc6 for the waypoint buttons (the red section of the screenshot) but is the dc6 for the outer border? Ive done a lot of looking and extracting but so far, no luck.

You can use values that go outside of the screen, like if you didnt want to even display it all just move it way out of bounds.

Im kinda lost as to what part you are looking for...

I'm working on the waypoint panel now. Heres my issue. The char screen and the waypoint panel are both 512 by 720 pixels. When I replace the char screen dc6 with my jpg, the dc6 program breaks up the jpg into nice little 256 by 256 slices and then the game reconstructs them properly and I have my char screen. Well, the waypoint panel is not "working" properly. The dc6 program breaks up the jpg into nice little 256 by 256 boxes like it should but the ingame panel is all messed up. I havent touched anything in terms of panel settings anywhere in the d2res.ini file. I've attempted to import the waypoint jpg more than once - I'm not doing anything different, but the outcome is different. I can manually set the offsets in the DC6 program. I just want to make sure something isn't screwed up somewhere. Cheers.

EDIT #1: I just noticed that the original dc6 for the waypoint panel was only four frames. I need six for the higher resolution. Anyway to fix this?

What do you mean by messed up? Images are too low? This is something with the Waypoints plugin.

You don't need to worry about what the original files were, Dav92 has put new configuration for frames.
It is already setup to have 6 frames per panel.

the waypoint plugin overrides the d2expres when drawing the waypoint panel...

i hope dav92 will create his own waypoint plugin for he community :mrgreen:

Dav92 mentioned he is rewriting the D2ExpRes so maybe this updated version will have a fix for it.

TY. I'll make a panel 256 by 720. It's not the greatest as you can see graphical issues on the left side because the panel should cover half of the screen but doesn't. Maybe Dav will find the time to update his dll in the next couple months??

i agree... my panel setup is just temporary...

waypoints.dll plugin is a really cool addition to mods...

plus, its fun to create / mess things up using d2expres, d2towns and waypoints... :mrgreen:

sadly, we cant always wait and rely on the plugin developers as they have other activities in RL too...

i usually tend to work with what i have even if its glitchy / imperfect in some way ;)

anyhow...

Waypoint Panel done and it looks good. I found my error. Bloody Black Marsh Button layed exactly ontop of the next page , cancel button.
Off to edit the quest page. :)

I suspect the error is a corrupt dc6 but I can easily open the original party.dc6 without issue. If I need to edit the sie of the dc6, I have no idea what size it should be. Anyone have any ideas? Thankyou.

the partyscreen use same dimensions as other screens like quest etc..
its in data\global\ui\menu\party.dc6

Did you get this error only when you open the partyscreen?

New issue. Never had this one before.

The game wont allow me to put items that the bottom of my inventory.
You can see my inventory.txt section that pertains to the char inventory. I havent edited the settings for the other 6 players - only the amazon which is the char being played at the time of the ss. You can see the green overlay is working properly for the arrows at the bottom. Any one have any ideas?

iirc inventory is limited to 16x16. There was a topic about it somewhere a long time ago but i cant find it anymore.

Well everything was working fine. I'm not sure whats up now. Maybe someone can help.

I did all my modding with D2SE. Everything was working - D2Res, Waypoints, and about 12 other plugins. All panels were created and working properly including a 512*256 wayypoint panel I force loaded into dc6 creator. I then copied over all my files to the MPQ creation folder and updated my non d2se install.

The non d2se crashed. Fine. I rerun the regular d2se and it crashes now too. I changed nothing. Everything crashes when I click on a waypoint to bring up the wp menu.

If my char is loaded into Act 1 and I try to use a wp, I get the C000005 error with

If I my char is loaded into Act 5 (different char), I get this error when I attempt to use a wp.

For the first error - I tried twice - once using a clean d2client and once using mine (even though mine worked fine prior to updating) - Still fails.
For the second error, I removed my dc6s and went with the orginal at they still crash. (WP Tabs, Icons, and Panel replaced)
