yesterday i got a virus FOR VISTA (if you are not using vista this is not a problem) that was passed to me by an outdated version of java. if you are using java i recommend that you update it to the newest version or get rid of java all together. it let a malware virus into my computer and it took me all night to get rid of it. if you happen to get it, it uninstalls your virus protection. if you are stuck in this situation i installed avast antivirus, and malware bytes anti-malware. anti malware took great care of the situation.
i am just posting this because this virus was a pain in the ass and would not like to see others stuck with such a problem

Removing Java all together isn't recommended. But, as usual never download from untrusted sites and always use antivirus tool with up-to-date database.
